About Darby Merriman

Darby Merriman has lived in the Dallas Fort Worth area more than 25 years, including Fort Worth, Denton, North Dallas and most recently, Carrollton, where she has resided for over 15 years. Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Darby loves all that DFW has to offer. Her love for real estate began at an early age as she watched many family members get involved in the business and fulfill their client's dreams. Darby has a keen eye for detail and vast experience in home remodeling, staging, marketing, corporate relocation and many other areas. She is a top producing realtor in her market with a proven track record of success and has received numerous awards. Darby has been recognized as Carrollton's Best Realtor four times (2016-2019), is a D Magazine as a Best Real Estate Agent (2018) and Best of Denton County (2018). Darby was selected by the Carrollton City Council as the Metrocrest Chamber's 2019 Rising Star for her commitment to the community and dedication to making the city a better place to live and do business. Darby is a University of North Texas graduate and her areas of study included Volunteer Management, Public Administration, Criminal Justice and Applied Economics. She has over 400 hours in Alternative Dispute Resolution Training and is certified in multiple areas of professional mediation. In 2018, Darby was appointed to the Mayor's Advisory Council by the mayor of Carrollton, to Seat 9 of the Neighborhood Advisory Commission by Carrollton City Council in 2019 and is a graduate of Leadership Metrocrest. In her spare time, Darby enjoys spending time with her husband, Rich, and two children, Vaughn and Beau. Darby loves to travel, do anything creative, serve on many nonprofit boards and volunteer with numerous community organizations. Currently, she serves as a vice president on the board of National Charity League - Hebron Chapter, past president on the Rosemeade Elementary PTA board, first vice president on the Blalack Middle School PTA board and on the Women's Business Forum committee for the Metrocrest Chamber.

Update: again in 2020 Darby came through as an all-star. We sold our house referenced below in my original review and received 17 offers on opening weekend. We were able to land a cash offer and close in two weeks. Even more amazing? With a sellers market she landed us a contract on our dream home at 10k under asking and with an assurance that the contract wouldnt go through until we sold our house (which we clearly had no problem doing.) I'm now three closing days in with Darby and a proud member of her super fun Gold Club. Shes top of class all the way. Previous review: I met Darby at an open house. Her attention to detail at the open house was what made me chose to work with her over the twenty other realtors I had met at open houses. This is my third house to purchase in the past ten years and I didnt know what a great real estate agent was until I met her. For six months she guided me through the crazy DFW housing market. We looked at around 50 houses and put in three different contracts. It was only through her market knowledge, quick response time, and attention to detail that we were able to beat out a cash offer on the house that is now my home. I cant say enough good things about her. She is the cream of the crop and the only real estate agent I will use for the future.

Simply the best. Worked with us with patience and we got a pretty good deal on our investment property.
