We're looking at homes in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale and a few of the ones we like are in FEMA flood zones. Should we just pass on those automatically? My husband says it's not worth the headache. How much will it really change what we pay monthly between insurance and everything else, and what should we be doing during the inspection period to know what we're really getting into before our escrow money is at risk?

Looking to relocate from NC to the Vero Beach or Melbourne area in 2 to 3 months. Want to purchase a home in a 55+ , pet friendly mobile home community.
I'm about to list my home in Palm Beach County and my agent told me to expect multiple offers based on how the market is moving. I want to actually understand what I'm looking at when offers come in, not just stare at the price. What are the red flags in a purchase contract that tell you a buyer probably isn't going to close, even if their offer looks great on paper?
My partner and I have been renting in Boca Raton for two years and our lease is up in a few months. Combined we make decent money and we've been saving, but every time we run the numbers it feels different than what we hear nationally. Mortgage rates are still hovering around 6.25%, insurance keeps climbing, and condo HOA fees scare us after everything we've read . We're not sure if we'll stay in this area long-term, maybe 4 or 5 years, hard to say. How do we actually figure out whether buying makes sense for us as a couple right now, or if we should rent another year?
A few years ago, my husband and I completely gutted and remodeled our master bathroom ourselves, including moving some plumbing lines. We never pulled permits for the work because we didn't think we needed to for an interior project. Now we are preparing to sell and I am terrified this is going to come up during the inspection or appraisal. What is the best way to handle this with potential buyers?

My siblings and I inherited our parents' house a few months ago. The estate is settled, but we are torn on when to actually put it on the market. The house is older and completely empty right now. We are paying for utilities and basic upkeep, so I am wondering if we should just sell it immediately or wait.

We have been house hunting in Florida for three months and have put in offers on four different starter homes. Every single time, we get beat out by an investor paying all cash, even when we offer over the asking price. We are using a standard FHA loan and feel completely stuck. Are there any strategies or contingencies we can adjust to make our financed offer more attractive to sellers?
