Not an agent, how long do I keep previously owned documents?
My mother passed and has documents from 20 years ago, and longer, on previously owned homes and land. They have all been sold years ago. Can I toss them out?

Keep closing documents, title policies, surveys, and improvement receipts for as long as you own the property. After selling, hold on to them for tax purposes for at least 3 to 7 years. When in doubt, digital copies are your friend.
If you are hoping to buy a house, you likely have a budget in mind. Hopefully, that budget includes fees that come with the process, not just the purchase price. The good news for buyers is that they aren't directly responsible for paying their agent. Agent fees usually fall on the seller.
