How do i know if my home value is going to hold steady or go down? I am so worried that we will try to sell in a few years and we won't get what we paid for it.

I don't want to pay the tax you pay if you put less than 20% down on a house but I don't have enough - can i borrow that money? Can i just have it rolled up into my mortgage or take out a different loan to cover the 20%?
The house of my dreams is for sale and has been on the market for 6 months. I finally went to see it and I want to buy it but I think the reason it has been on the market for so long is because it has a cracked foundation. They are selling as is. How much will it cost to fix that? Is it worth buying the house with a cracked foundation if it is my dream home!

I am finally ready to buy. I have been renting for years and I want to own. I have been paying $1400/month in rent recently for a 2 bed 1 bath and I was hoping that I could buy a slightly bigger home and have a similar monthly mortgage payment but I can find nothing. Even outside of my desired area home prices are going crazy. What should I do? Why are home prices so high will they come down?

We've decided to sell but I have no idea what I should do first. Do i talk to a contractor and get everything updated and fixed first? Do i have to get pictures taken on my own? Do I talk to the bank because we have a mortgage? We haven't even looked at other houses yet so I don't know where we are moving.

When we bought our house 25 years ago the schools were great. We wanted to live here because they were so highly rated. But in the last few years there have been funding cuts and the schools have just gone down the tubes. We live in a very family friendly area with parks, near grocery stores, etc. And our home isn't huge, so it's great for a starter home for a young family. But I'm worried that people with kids won't want to live in this area anymore. We don't have a lot of private options, and the public schools used to be so good. I don't know if it is smarter to wait and see if the schools get better in 10 years, or try to sell now and move while we can and want to.
