Can I switch mortgage lenders after I've already been pre-approved?

I got pre-approved with my local credit union a few weeks ago, but now another lender is offering a much better interest rate. We haven't found a house yet, so I'm not locked into a specific property. Will starting a new application with this second lender hurt my credit score, or is it normal to shop around at this stage?

Why is my house not selling?

Beautiful house, big yard, good school. 40 days on market and only 2 people come see it. My agent says the market is slow but I see other houses sell fast. Is it my agent or my house? I am very frustrated.

Found mold in the crawlspace

Buying a house, just did the inspection. They found 'white fuzzy growth' in the crawlspace. The seller says it’s just mildew from the rain. Should I run away from this deal or is it easy to clean up? I have kids with asthma.

Agent won't show me houses without preapproval?

I'm not sure if I even want to move to the suburbs from the city. I just want to get a feel for the houses and see if i could live there. The agent I talked to said he wouldn't show me any houses without preapproval. i get he doesn't want to waste his time if i can't afford the house. but i also don't want to waste my time on preapproval if i might not even move. Do I have to have preapproval to see a house?

How do I make my home look brighter?

I have had a few showings and the feedback my agent is passing on to mee is that a lot of the people think that my home is too dark. We are south facing and we also have a big porch in the back that blocks the light to the main area. What can I do to help add more light without a huge renovation adding windows and stuff?
