Can I sign a buyer agreement to see 2 houses?

I want to get a feel for the agent and the area before I commit to either. Can I sign a buyer agreement that allows me to see 2-4 houses with the agent and that's it? If I like the agent and area, then I'm fine committing for a longer time period. So, are there short term buyer agreements?

Absolutely! No commitment on either parties. This gives you and the agent an opportunity to decide if its a good fit and continue with a longer term or move on.

Yes. Buyer agreements can be customized for a short term or limited scope. You can agree to representation for just a few showings if you are still deciding on an agent relationship.

YES! There is no need for long term commitment in this case. The agent should also be just as happy to get to show you those 2-4 homes then both decide if you want to continue into a longer term agreement if you are both a good fit.

Looks like you have great advice from my colleagues in Indiana:). A "trial" buyer agreement limited by per showing or time period is like a dating period before marriage! Have fun and hope it is a great fit for your and your agent:).

Absolutely, I completely understand wanting to get a feel for both the area and the agent before making a longer commitment—that’s a smart approach! Yes, we can absolutely do a short-term or limited-scope buyer agreement that allows you to view 2–4 homes. This gives you a chance to see how the realtor works, and ensures that you feel comfortable and confident moving forward. If it’s a good fit, we can discuss extending the agreement.

Yes! You can specify and customize the agreement to whatever is mutually acceptable to you and the agent. Good luck!
