People make it seem like owning a rental is easy money. But what about people that don't pay? Squatters? Bad tenants? Or what if the tenant just leaves? How do I protect myself when owning a rental? I'm also worried about owning a rental and not getting a tenant. I could float the mortgage for a while, but not that long. I worry that this could ruin me financially rather than be beneficial. Any advice is appreciated.
I’m looking to move to plant city or Titusville Florida, how’s the weather all year round? Do they get a lot of hurricanes ?
I rent and it's nice to not worry about fixing anything. But people keep telling me I should own a place. How is owning better than renting?
How do I rent back my house after it's sold? I'm hoping to sell and then stay for a couple weeks to do work on a new place. What are strategies for negotiating this?
Hi, I've heard of rent to own. How does rent to own work? Is it still an option? How would I find a rent to own property?
My landlord is selling, do I have to move? I have about 6 months left on my lease and I've lived here for years. I don't know what the buyers plans are. If the buyer doesn't want renters, will I be forced to move?
I am moving from Pennsylvania to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. My current rent contract ends June 18, so I'm really hoping to be able to move in to a rental home June 19 or 20 if possible. However, with my work schedule, the only possible opportunity I will have to visit the area in person and see homes is May 28 through June 3. I realize this is really cutting it close, as I've been reading that general rule of thumb is to start looking 30-45 days in advance. I have asked my current landlord to extend by 1 week, but not sure yet if this will be possible. I would like to use a realtor, my hope being that this will expedite process of finding a home within that 1 week opportunity (I'm sure I would end up wasting a lot of time trying to do it myself through Zillow or something). So my question really is, is this timeline feasible or am I setting myself up for failure by trying to make this work? I have a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for, Zillow suggests there are plenty of options that fit the bill in the area - if there was a suitable place found in that week I am visiting Tennessee, can the rest of the process of finalizing the contract be completed in the remaining 2 weeks? Anything you could share would be much appreciated.
Housing prices around me seem to be going down, but we'd like to move. Should we just rent our house and wait for the future to sell it? Is there anything we should watch out for?
