How often do school boundaries change?

The house we like is in a bad school area. We have an infant so like 5 years until we need schools. Any change the school could change in that 5 years and we'd be in a better zone?

How do i check if a school zone is about to change before i buy?

The house I like is in a top rated elementary school area but I heard that the county is redistricting next year. If the boundary moves two blocks over my property value could drop overnight. Is there a way to see the plan ahead of time?

Do school districts really matter if I don’t have kids?

I don’t have children, but I’ve heard that school districts can significantly impact resale value. Should buyers still prioritize school zones even if they don’t plan to use them?

What to do about bad schools?

When we bought our house 25 years ago the schools were great. We wanted to live here because they were so highly rated. But in the last few years there have been funding cuts and the schools have just gone down the tubes. We live in a very family friendly area with parks, near grocery stores, etc. And our home isn't huge, so it's great for a starter home for a young family. But I'm worried that people with kids won't want to live in this area anymore. We don't have a lot of private options, and the public schools used to be so good. I don't know if it is smarter to wait and see if the schools get better in 10 years, or try to sell now and move while we can and want to.

If my area redistricts schools can I still get in a school?

We bought specifically to be in a good school district. My kids are young and now they are talking about redistricting, and we'd be in a different highschool by the time my kids are old enough. What can I do if I don't want to move?
