IN PRAISE OF STEPHANIE HOPKINS Selling a house can be one of lifes most challenging experiences. When the house to be sold is inherited from ones deceased parents, the process can be overwhelming. In this case, one is dealing with emptying a home filled with precious keepsakes/belongings, navigating relentless time-sensitive decisions, identifying and scheduling household repair tasks and cleanup as well as dealing with grief. In our case, the project was complicated by the fact that my brother (co-owner living near Houston) and I (living near Seattle) live significant distances away from the location of the house and we had no practical experience of working with local Lakeway Texas realtors nor the subcontractors who were needed to bring the house into a market-worthy condition. In addition to needing a agent who knew the Lakeway Texas Real Estate market well and who is an excellent communicator/marketer/negotiator, we needed a solutions-oriented representative who was well acquainted with local subcontractors. Because we do not live locally, the agent would need to help us with scheduling and supervising subcontractors who could provide first-rate services with excellent outcomes on tight schedules prior to when the house went on the market. This is a tall order to fill, but Stephanie Hopkins exceeded even our highest hopes by stepping into this multi-faceted role with professionalism in each category which inspired our trust and confidence. Stephanie treated us sensitively and with patience as she shepherded us throughout the process. Her recommendations for listing price, marketing and negotiating strategies, staging/presentation, and market timing were SPOT ON! Where Stephanie further excels is in her communication-style. She expertly painted lovely aEURoeword picturesaEUR? of the home in the MLS description that accentuated the houses many positive features while expressing visionary ideas of minor tweaks that could be made to make the 30 year old home into a current life-style dream home. The incredible videography and still photography that she provided for marketing the home was second to none. Whereas God sent the right buyer for our parents home to Stephanies Open House on the first day that it was on the Market (buyers who later that same day gave us an above list offer), it was Stephanie who set-up the presentation, negotiated the contract terms, and CLOSED THE DEAL. My brothers heart and mine are now filled with thankfulness that our parents legacy of love and joy in their home is now extended to a young family who will be creating their own brand of happy memories in that same location. Look no further for an agent, Stephanie is the one for you. This was my first experience selling a home, so finding a knowledgable, professional, and highly organized agent was so important! Stephanie guided us through which renovations would get us the most bang for the buck, and found us a painter who did an excellent job at a low price. She did extensive market research to make sure the home was priced right to sell quickly for a fair amount.
