Leigh Marcus was the listing agent for a home in Wilmette that I virtually toured with his associate agent, Sara Jividen. Since I told Sara that I would rather be self-represented, she provided me with a blank MULTI-BOARD RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE CONTRACT 7.0. The following day, I completed and submitted it to Peter Cummins, one of the listing agents, but he rejected it. He emailed saying it was "not the required form [and] does not constitute a formal offer in here in Illinois." He also wrote that he would not consider an offer from anyone who has (1) not physically seen the property and (2) is not represented by a realtor. Additionally, Sarah and Peter both refused to provide me with the home disclosures. They both promised to provide comps but never did. As I understand it, these discriminatory acts are violations of the Illinois Code of Conduct for Realtors. When I brought these matters to Leigh Marcus attention, he failed to respond. This shows a lack of integrity, empathy, and professionalism.

We worked with Leigh's office to both sell our home in Roscoe Village and buy a new one in North Center. Leigh was very knowledgeable about the north side neighborhoods, corresponding school districts, and different home types (new builds, tear downs, conversions). He understood how our home stood up against current homes for sale and was able to help us price and market our home well. We also needed to have a few last minute things done to our home to get it ready to sell and his team was always attentive and helpful in finding the right resources and ensuring things were addressed right away.We specifically worked with Grahm to buy our new home. Grahm was very helpful as we started with a broader list of criteria and he worked with us to narrow in on what neighborhoods we really wanted and the style/size of home. He helped us navigate considerations of buying a new home or what it would take to build a home (we didn't go that route in the end). Grahm was very responsive, and ensured he scoured the homes listed and the ones that were being built that weren't on the market yet. We're confident we purchased the right home with Grahm's help.
