It's more than just PARKS (well.. parks in EG is so much fun!) The City of Elk Grove paid so much effort to hold different mid to large scale events to entertain families with kids. We were so spoiled to be fed with fun activities, classes and events. If you kids love big trucks like my toddler does, you will never get disappointed to join the community events. Besides, the family-friendly cultures, schools in Elk Grove rating was among the top in the Sac area. Traveling to bay area isn't too far neither, how about an hour and half to go shopping at SF premium outlet in Livermore (the most popular outlet in the region). Come explore more and tell you what you think.

We moved to Elk Grove in 2000, raised our 2 daughters here and have seen it grow from a rural farm area, to a vibrant, multi-cultural city with eclectic restaurants, world class Parks and Recreation areas, with a family emphasis including The Giant Pumpkin Festival, Western Festival and our newest District 56, including an Aquatics Center, Veterans Hall, Senior Center, Farmers Market and acres of outdoor space , including the Preserve, shopping and top rated Elk Grove school district. Located close to Highway 99 and Interstate 5 make for easy commutes into Sacramento, Folsom, even the bay area. It's a great place to raise a family & the housing market ranges from older suburban ranch style homes to brand new homes with all the bells and whistles , condos and everything in between! Houses here tend to hold their value well increasing on average 21% in the last year!

About these neighborhood estimates

Prices and counts describe active listings returned by the provider, excluding coming-soon and nearby search results. They are asking prices, not sold prices, and may not include every home for sale.

Nearby-school grades are FastExpert estimates from the average available ratings of unique public schools returned for sampled neighborhood properties. A: 8–10; B: 6–under 8; C: 4–under 6; D: 2–under 4; F: 1–under 2. Unrated schools are excluded. Nearby schools may not be assigned to a specific address.

Photos show identified local landmarks. Five neighborhoods are shown, ordered by property count. Median asking price breaks a tie.
