A few months ago I decided to stop letting my fears and excuses hold me back from moving on into my desired third act of life. The biggest beginning step was selling my home. I did the obligatory search for a realtor and immediately received an onslaught of texts, VMs, and emails. All of them telling me how they would love to help me achieve my goals and to call if I had questions. They were all cookie cutter communications and quite frankly the frequency became irritating. Marys email also offered her services, but what sold me was the fact that she took the time to answer questions she figured I would already have. She took the time to include information all of the others had access to. In short, she treated me like I was already family, just like it says on the Opt website. Not only that, but she gave me knowledge and knowledge equals power; the one thing I truly needed to feel I had in this frightening yet exhilarating experience. Selling my home was the single most stressful thing Ive done in a very long time, but Mary, armed with a list of resources that would prove invaluable in getting my home ready for market, held my hand and guided me through every step. She even understood how stressed I was about people coming and going in my home with my cat loose, making the cutest caution signs about him to remind visitors to keep him safe. Devyn was a solid realtor to work with. He did as he said in his profile - he provided above and beyond service for us when we were purchasing our home. He was super responsive, knowledgeable about every step of the process. He was very patient with this 83 year old woman who needed a lot of coaching on doing everything electronically. He always responded to texts immediately and was good at herding me. Otherwise, it probably would have taken much longer to sell my condo. I didnt like the dickering process, and I'm not sure what role Ray took in the process, but he mostly advised me to give some to get some and that worked although I dont know if I got the best I could. I trusted Ray to do that, and I'm ignorant about the process. It was more complicated than any sale process Ive been through. I'm grateful Ray was so competent, otherwise I would have been lost. His language was always positive. I trusted him. He worked hard for me and was a saint in helping me through all the online processes. He was always optimistic and cheerful. I loved that about him.
