Ian was/is our real estate agent for Tahoe. Earlier this year, we decided to check out ski condos in the Tahoe area and luckily found Ian online. After several phone conversations and emails, I had given Ian all of the details for what we were specifically looking for, our budget, etc. After patiently working with us for several months by sending and reviewing online listings, we were ready to head up to Tahoe to start looking. The day I went to meet Ian, he had 6 or 7 listings ready to check out. I had a mindset that this may take time (even a year or more) to find the right place for our family, but was pleasantly surprised when we started to view the units. Ian was spot on with what he was showing us. They were exactly what I described to him that we wanted and they were all within our price range. We ended up purchasing the 3rd unit he showed us and now own our dream ski condo!! Once Ian got us a great deal on the unit (20% off list price), he stayed with us through the entire purchasing process, answering all of our questions and concerns (getting a loan for a Tahoe property can be tricky with insurance).Ian is not only a great agent, but he was a great friend through the entire 8 month purchasing process. He has an excellent knowledge of the Tahoe market, and a wealth of knowledge about the Tahoe area and all of the fun adventurous things to do there. I probably asked him more questions about skiing, hiking than I did about the real estate, and I know I can still call and ask him anything and he'll take the time to get back to me.We will definitely use Ian as our agent in the future. We first met Ian back in 2014 when we purchased a cabin in Alpine Meadows. Just 22 months later, we decided to sell the cabin and relocate to Squaw Valley and we didn't hesitate to call Ian to assist us with two simultaneous transactions. The challenge was that we wanted to sell and purchase at the same time - minimizing the amount of time we didn't have a home in Tahoe. Coupled with that, this was in the middle of the prime ski season. With Ian and Andrew's help, we sold our cabin in just 7 days. Ian's negotiation skills (and spydy gut instincts) allowed us to ultimately sell our cabin for the price we wanted after a lot of back and forth negotiation. The team then turned around quickly and worked with us to relocate and make an offer in Squaw Valley. At the end of the day, we only lost 23 days of the ski season. Pretty impressive considering the challenges we put Ian and Andrew up to.....would not hesitate to continue partnering with both in the future.
