Living in Sedona: A Local’s Perspective After 22 Years My wife Danielle and I have called Sedona home for over 22 years, and after more than two decades of living, raising our family, and working in real estate here, I can confidently say that Sedona is an extraordinary place to call home. The greatest advantage of living in Sedona is the lifestyle. Surrounded by breathtaking red rock landscapes, residents enjoy year-round outdoor recreation, hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails, beautiful weather, and a strong sense of community. Despite being an internationally recognized destination, Sedona retains much of its small-town character. We particularly love the Village of Oak Creek, where we live and have spent years supporting local organizations, community events, and charitable causes. Of course, there are considerations for anyone planning to relocate here. Tourism is a significant part of Sedona's economy, and traffic can become congested during peak visitor seasons. The cost of living, particularly housing, can also be challenging compared to other Arizona communities. Additionally, each Sedona neighborhood has its own character, amenities, property restrictions, and lifestyle considerations. The good news is that many of these challenges can be addressed by choosing the right neighborhood and working with an experienced local buyer's agent. My wife, Danielle Giann, specializes in helping buyers understand the differences between West Sedona, Uptown, the Chapel area, and the Village of Oak Creek. Her extensive local knowledge helps buyers find properties that match their lifestyle, priorities, and budget while avoiding potential surprises. After 22 years here and more than 400 real estate transactions throughout Sedona and the Verde Valley, our appreciation for this community has only grown. We have traveled extensively, but there is something truly special about coming home to Sedona. My advice to anyone considering a move? Spend time exploring the different neighborhoods, experience the community beyond the tourist attractions, and work with someone who genuinely knows what it's like to live here. Sedona isn't just a beautiful place to visit. With the right guidance and expectations, it can be an exceptional place to call home. *Damian Bruno | Associate Broker | Coldwell Banker Realty* *Damian & Danielle's Sedona Village Real Estate Group*
