I am born and raised in Pompano beach. My parents lived there for almost 50 years and it definitely has changed a lot from back then. Pompano is a fairly large city, and I truly feel it has a little something for everyone. From an executive airport and multiple marinas to plenty of public parks (many on the water) and golf courses (even a Greg Norman Designed Course). The city has taken on a large initiative to redevelop the downtown and beachside portions of the city. Old Town and the beach have already seen massive transformations with the downtown area and the area called the POMP are the next 2 big transitions. What I do love, is for having such a prime location and amazing amenities/services so close, there are still mom and pop restaurants and a good portion of the locals still know each other giving it a smaller hometown feel, even with the continued growth.

Pompano Beach City Reviews
Real experiences from people who call Pompano Beach home.
As a Pompano Beach resident and real estate professional, I appreciate that the city offers different lifestyles within one community. Buyers can explore beach-area condos, waterfront properties, single-family homes, and communities such as Palm Aire, where I live. For me, one of Pompano Beach’s biggest advantages is its location. The beach, outdoor recreation, dining, and access to major roads make it a convenient home base in South Florida. I also appreciate having the option to enjoy the coastal atmosphere while living farther inland. My advice to someone moving here is to explore several neighborhoods before choosing a home. Living near the beach can feel very different from living in Palm Aire or another inland community. Visit at different times of day, test your commute, and consider how close you want to be to shopping, restaurants, and everyday services. There are practical considerations, too. Traffic on major roads and parking near the beach can require patience during busy periods. When comparing properties, I encourage buyers to look beyond the purchase price and understand insurance costs, flood-zone information, maintenance needs, and any association fees. For condos, reviewing the building’s condition, reserves, assessments, and rules is an important part of the process. I believe Pompano Beach is worth exploring for buyers who want a South Florida lifestyle with a variety of housing options. The key is finding the neighborhood and property that fit your daily life, priorities, and budget.
Welcome to Broward County. Pompano sits north of Fort Lauderdale and it's a diverse city. You can escape to the beach, fish and take your boat out onto the water. There are many activities to do and it is family friendly. Plenty of restaurants and shops to fill your time.
