Iowa Park is my hometown, so my knowledge of this community goes back long before I became a real estate broker. I grew up here, and I still work with buyers and sellers throughout Iowa Park and the surrounding area. One of the things I appreciate most about Iowa Park is that it has maintained its own identity while being just a short drive from Wichita Falls. There are local businesses, community events, school activities, sports and plenty of ways to be involved, while Wichita Falls is close enough for additional shopping, dining, employment and services. Sheppard Air Force Base is also within a manageable commute. The housing market is more varied than people unfamiliar with Iowa Park sometimes expect. You'll find older established neighborhoods, updated homes, newer construction, larger lots and acreage around the community. Inventory is naturally smaller than Wichita Falls, and pricing can vary significantly based on location, condition, lot size and the type of property. I always recommend evaluating Iowa Park as its own real estate market rather than assuming that values and market conditions are the same as Wichita Falls just because the two communities are close together. Iowa Park will always be home to me. For buyers considering the Wichita Falls area who like the idea of a smaller community without being far removed from the conveniences of a larger city, Iowa Park deserves a serious look.
