As a Central Florida local, mom of three, and real estate agent, I appreciate Groveland for its open spaces, lakes, and mix of established neighborhoods and newer communities. If you’re considering this part of Lake County, here are my three biggest pros and two things to keep in mind. PRO #1: Options for more space Groveland is worth exploring if a larger yard, more privacy, or room for outdoor living is on your wish list. There are properties with acreage alongside traditional neighborhoods. I help buyers look closely at usable land, maintenance, and restrictions so the property supports what they want to do with it. PRO #2: A range of housing choices From established homes to new construction, Groveland offers different styles and settings to compare. For buyers considering a builder, I look beyond the model home to the lot, included finishes, upgrade costs, and incentive terms. The goal is to understand the complete purchase before committing. PRO #3: Access to an outdoor lifestyle The lakes and rural scenery are a big part of Groveland’s appeal, with nearby Clermont adding more opportunities for waterfront activities and trails. As a mom and former competitive athlete, I appreciate locations that make getting outside part of everyday life. Just remember that being near a lake doesn’t necessarily include access to it. CON #1: Your commute deserves a test drive If you regularly travel to Orlando or other parts of Central Florida, location matters. Access to Highway 50, Highway 27, and the Florida Turnpike varies by neighborhood. I encourage buyers to drive their actual route during workday hours before deciding a home is convenient. CON #2: Daily convenience varies by location Some homes are closer to shopping and services, while others offer a more rural setting with longer drives for errands. Depending on the property, you’ll also want to check HOA rules, any CDD fees, school zoning, septic or well systems, and drainage. These details can affect both your routine and your budget. What I appreciate about Groveland is the opportunity to find a home with the space and setting you want. My role is to help you understand the tradeoffs and choose confidently. If you’re considering buying or selling here, I’m happy to share my local perspective and help you plan your next move. Cassidy McWherter | Central Florida Realtor

About these neighborhood estimates

Prices and counts describe active listings returned by the provider, excluding coming-soon and nearby search results. They are asking prices, not sold prices, and may not include every home for sale.

Nearby-school grades are FastExpert estimates from the average available ratings of unique public schools returned for sampled neighborhood properties. A: 8–10; B: 6–under 8; C: 4–under 6; D: 2–under 4; F: 1–under 2. Unrated schools are excluded. Nearby schools may not be assigned to a specific address.

Photos show identified local landmarks. Five neighborhoods are shown, ordered by property count. Median asking price breaks a tie.
