As a Central Florida local, mom of three, and real estate agent, I appreciate Clermont for its lakes, rolling hills, and variety of neighborhoods. It offers several different ways to live, from waterfront properties and established communities to newer construction. Here are my three biggest pros and two things buyers should consider. PRO #1: The outdoor lifestyle Lake Minneola, Waterfront Park, and the local trails are a big part of Clermont’s appeal. Whether you enjoy running, cycling, boating, or spending time outside, there’s plenty to appreciate. As a mom and former competitive athlete, access to outdoor activities is something I value when helping clients compare locations. PRO #2: A variety of homes and neighborhoods Clermont gives buyers options: lakefront living, larger lots, established neighborhoods, and communities with amenities. I help clients compare privacy, maintenance, fees, and everyday convenience alongside the house itself. For new construction, understanding what’s included, upgrade costs, and incentive terms is especially important. PRO #3: Everyday convenience and a downtown worth exploring Clermont offers shopping, dining, and services, plus a downtown near the waterfront with its own atmosphere. I encourage buyers to explore beyond the neighborhood entrance. Your grocery run, school drive, and trips to activities all shape how much you’ll enjoy living somewhere. CON #1: Traffic can affect your routine Highway 50 and Highway 27 are major routes, and your location can make a significant difference in your commute. Test your drive during the hours you’ll actually travel, especially if you work in Orlando. A quiet weekend visit won’t show you the full picture. CON #2: Not every Clermont address offers the same experience The Clermont search area is broad. Two homes with the same city listed can have very different access to downtown, lakes, shopping, and major roads. Before buying, verify the location, school zoning, HOA rules, any CDD fees, and utilities. For waterfront or larger properties, take a closer look at drainage, insurance, and maintenance. What I like most about Clermont is the ability to find a home around the life you want. My job is to help you understand the options and tradeoffs so you can choose confidently. If you’re considering buying or selling here, I’m happy to share a local perspective and help you plan your next move. Cassidy McWherter | Central Florida Realtor

Ive called CLERMONT home for the last 10 years. It has a Small town feel but close enough for theme park enjoyment and only about an hour and a half from either the east or west coast beaches! Clermont, Florida offers the perfect blend of scenic beauty, small-town charm, and modern convenience. With its rolling hills, the access to the Chain of Lakes that really encompass the name LAKE COUNTY, highly rated schools, and easy access to Orlando's world-class attractions and employment opportunities, it's easy to see why so many people are choosing to call Clermont home. The iconic Citrus Tower overlooks the area. Whether you're raising a family, retiring, or simply looking for a better quality of life, Clermont has something for everyone. Let me know if the City of Champions, Clermont, is where you would like to live!
