ZillowVERIFIED I want to start by saying that my real estate agent was helpful during the initial phase of searching for a home, responsive, friendly, and available for showings. However, once I decided on a property, that level of support and advocacy completely disappeared. When I pointed out concerns about the house, they were repeatedly brushed off as aEURoenormal,aEUR? and I was made to feel like I was overthinking things. She did not advocate for me during the negotiation or inspection process, which is when a buyer needs their agent the most. Unfortunately, not even a week after closing, I started experiencing serious plumbing issues that continue to this day, six months later, and have cost me a significant amount of money. The inspector she recommended also failed to catch these major problems, which adds another layer of frustration. I trusted her guidance and referrals, and that trust was misplaced. Buying a home is a major decision, and I strongly urge anyone working with an agent to make sure they are not just helpful during the search, but truly there to protect your interests through closing and beyond. Sadly, that was not my experience.
