The night before we were scheduled to arrive we did some searches online for top agents in the Bellingham area and found Paul. We gave him a call. He got back to us quickly and we scheduled time to talk the next morning. During our first call with Paul he provided a lot of background information about the area, specific neighborhoods, etc. He also added a few houses to the list we had already created on Zillow. ZillowVERIFIED Our family had a great experience working with Paul Balzotti and John L. Scott on finding and buying a home in Bellingham, WA. We started our search from Seattle online in the Fall of 2019 and were a bit discouraged with low inventory, plus we were pretty naive with how competitive the market was going to be. We researched realtors and reached out to Paul in early 2020 to get out of fantasy mode and start our search with him in earnest. We experienced several months of inventory slowly coming online when Covid19 shut the country down. Open houses were few and far between but Paul continued sending us new listings and met us a number of times over the Winter and Spring to walk our family of six one-by-one through otherwise shutdown properties. Our first three offers were beat out by other folks but rather than getting discouraged and rushed into a deal Paul helped us practice patience and stay true to our desire for a home close to WWU which really limited our choices. Paul listed my property at the beginning of the COVID, and I was concerned, but Paul worked hard to sell the property for basically the asking price. We had recently moved to Bellingham from out of town, and he was very patient with us as we narrowed in what exactly we were looking for in terms of a house and a neighborhood. Paul took us on an initial tour of homes our first weekend in town and spent the whole day with us as we went in to houses I had liked on paper, but ended up hating in person. We spent about 2 months working with him from the initial search, to rounds of negotiating on multiple properties to closing. In the search for the right place, Paul took us through any house we wanted to see and suggested any more he thought we'd be interested in. He kept himself available to is 24/7 (literally) and was always quick to respond. In negotiations, he had our interests as priority and pushed for what we wanted. Paul is honest and never pushed us out of our comfort zone or budget, yet he was straight-forward with us if our expectations were unrealistic. In many instances, Paul worked directly with our mortgage lender to ensure an efficient process and thought ahead to prevent hiccups. There are plenty of small things we never thought a real estate agent would/should take care of that Paul spent his own time, energy and sometimes money to accomplish for us. He still hasn't stopped working for us, even after closing. The seller on our property never came through on a repair that they agreed to, and Paul is covering it on his own to ensure we are whole and happy. ZillowVERIFIED Paul is phenomenal!! When I was travelling, I was considering that I may want to sell my home, and knew that time was of the essence in selling a home. I contacted Paul via phone and we agreed to meet on my return. When we met, he had researched my home, and prepared comps. He and I walked through the property, and he paid intense attention to details, I didn't even notice, which he felt would make a home sell quickly and for best price. He delivered an awesome presentation on how he values a home, how he markets a home, and what his selling process is. I then immediately had to leave on another trip, and while gone made the decision to sell my home. He arranged to get all the prep work for minor repairs, landscaping, touch up painting done promptly at at great price. Then he had phenomenal photos taken. He arranged for a select group of brokers to tour the house and from the feedback we adjusted the price higher. When I returned we signed the papers, and listed the property, with 3 days of Open Houses once the listing came on line. We held off on accepting any offers for 3 days, with the hope of several offers and over asking price offers. which is exactly what happened. Paul then assisted me with closing, and helped me with all the annoying details of moving, including an opportunity to stay in the home while packing, and even help arranging movers and cleaning. It is hard to imagine any realtor can be as great as Paul is. He was always available, He was always friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and always went the proverbial "extra mile" I hope to consider him a good friend now, and over so highly recommend him to you.
