As first time seller-buyers, we had a ton of questions about how to make everything work so we wouldn't end up paying two mortgages, or having to rent an apartment during an awkward span of time between selling one house and buying the next. Melissa made everything easy to understand, and quelled our fears and anxieties. As a first step, she came to our house to assess any projects that she thought we could do to increase our home's value. Next, she helped us find a handyman to complete the work, and gave us solid suggestions for mortgage lenders to apply to to get prequalified. She checked in frequently while we were in the process of updating a few things before listing, and once we were ready to go, we were off to the races. We listed on a Thursday, and had our first showing the next day. Open house on Saturday, and then we reviewed 3 offers on Sunday. I really credit Melissa with nailing down the must-do repairs, settling on the perfect list price to draw folks in, and talking up our house to really drive interest. I know this market is crazy, but 4 days! We sold our house over list price in 4 days. Throughout the process, Melissa was easily available by way of email, phone, and text, and she was always ready to find an answer when we needed one. She was incredibly easy to work with, knowledgeable, and made us feel very confident in the whole process!

ZillowVERIFIED The short: Melissa is the best real estate agent in the area, and perhaps in the world. If real estate was a sport, Melissa would be on the all-star team. If you don't use her services you are doing it wrong. The long: I always loved house hunters, and how it seemed like the realtor was really invested in the people trying to purchase a home. When it was finally time for me to buy a bachelor pad, I contacted around 9 real estate agents who all gave me some sort of variation of the following: Realtor: "How many beds/bath/square feet do you want?" Me: "x,y,z" Realtor: "OK, I'm adding you to an e-mail list. You'll get e-mails when listings that match that criteria pop up." "I could do that myself" I thought. I was really disappointed. Then one day while I was browsing Zillow, I stumbled across Melissa's profile and decided to give it one last shot. The experience was AMAZING. From the first phone call, I knew that she would take good care of me. She was extremely attentive, asking me questions about things I hadn't even thought about and went to work right away. Less than an hour later, she sent me three properties she thought I'd be a good fit for as "a young bachelor trying to live downtown" (my words.) She insisted we at least look at them so she could get a better feel for my wants and needs in a physical space. After we looked at a few, we found my dream spot and that's when it got even better. I had a lot of trouble with my lender, and Melissa was my advocate the whole time. When the stress of sending the same paperwork 10,000 times made me want to quit, Melissa talked to me to make sure I understood the whole process. She didn't need to do that, but her knowledge provided a lot of comfort. Through the entire process, Melissa was constantly in communication with me and the bank translating what they were saying for me. In the end, it all worked out and now I'm the proud owner of my first home. I maintain that if it weren't for Melissa I would've given up. Seriously, she's surgical with the entire real estate process.

A few months later we were finally ready to start looking. Once again Melissa met with us and we reviewed our price range, what we were looking for, preferences, etc. Immediately she started sending us listings. We found a few houses on our own through Zillow as well, and Melissa met us at each one. Once we found the house that we LOVED, she met with us within a few hours to discuss the property and write an offer. By the time we met with her, she had already done some research on the house and had a brief history as well. She helped us write an offer that was eventually accepted. ZillowVERIFIED Update March 2018** 5 years later and 2 kids, time to move. We worked with Melissa again on our journey to purchase our forever home and sell our town home. We were in a tricky situation trying to make contingent offers in a competitive Portland market. We originally put an offer in on dream home and lost out to a cash offer. Melissa picked us up when we felt defeated. Just weeks later the cash offer on our dream home fell through. The same day it came back on the market, Melissa was on the phones contacting the agent in another country (complete chaos), but within the day Melissa got our offer accepted. It was then a quick turn around to get our house listed. With out missing a beat, Melissa had us listed In days. 2 open houses, great advertising, and preciss knowledge of pricing us to sell/make a profit, Melissa had an offer on our townhome in 2 weeks. Melissa never missed a detail. She is extremely professional, has the most timely communication, and most important, she knows how to win in this market. Melissa was always patient and understanding of my specific needs and wants and showed me properties that fit my criteria in a timely manner.
