As a military family, our timeline was quite compressed, and moving from California to the other side of the country added significant logistical difficulties. Long-distance moves like this make it challenging to find the time to visit the area and look at houses. It was crucial for us to find a real estate agent willing to work with us remotely, look at houses on our behalf, take videos, and provide enough information to help us make informed decisions about whether we needed to travel to see a property in person and how quickly we needed to act on homes we liked. During COVID, after a death in the family, I had to empty and sell a family condo in NoVa, while residing full-time in Canada. I needed to do this while having many commitments in Canada and very little spare time to spend going to NoVa, especially during the summer heat. In mid-May, I was finally able to schedule a trip to Virginia for five days to start working on the problem. As well as sorting our possessions into store-and-keep, and donate, I thought it would be best to choose/meet with an agent, to work out a plan for this sale. The week before my trip, I decided to book the meeting.I already had personal references to two excellent agents who covered that area, one of whom I had worked with before. But I had become unsure of my rapport with that one, and reached out to the other one. As the clock was ticking, I started feeling nervous the next day when I did not hear back from her. As the day passed, I started reading intensively threads on NextDoor, cross-checking to Google, Zillow and Yelp and made a list of half a dozen names that people recurrently really liked. One name particularly stood out: Megan Fass and her Fass Results Team. I read through their website and ended up firing off a contact form before going to sleep.The next morning I woke up to a pleasant and useful response from Megan Fass aEUR" not just timely, but much more promising than the response I finally got a few hours later from my contact who I had emailed two days before. ZillowVERIFIED Before choosing a real estate agent to sell our condo in McLean, VA, we conducted a lot of research to see who would be the best choice based on the investment they make into selling the property and how they promote their listings. The FASS Results Group Team stood out as the best choice: their reviews are excellent, and their total sales in 2020 were strong.We spoke with Megan and Julie in a Zoom meeting. They spent an hour answering our questions, providing objective data regarding current market, how long their listings typically stay on the market, and providing tons of info in the area. Based on the conversation, we decided to go with Julie as our listing agent. She then developed a marketing plan that included repair suggestions, open houses, advertising, etc. All the data and estimated costs were in a Google drive file, shared with us. Julie and Denise (teammate) were extremely responsive and very pro-active on communicating with us. They made the process incredibly easy and took extra steps many other Realtors dont. Julie suggested having a staging pro to do staging and having professional photographs, and provided 50% cost sharing. The staging was amazing, which made the condo much more attractive.When we saw our listing, we were blown away. Julie?s hard work and knowledge of what it takes to sell a home really paid off - our listing looked amazing. We had an offer within one day on the market. Our condo went under contract 3 days after we put it on the market at the asking price. It couldnt have been a more pleasant experience. In addition, we received a surprised gift from Julie after closing. Such a post-close follow-up provides the most valuable personal touch to us.

We had met a lot at open houses browsing in the area over the past year and there are just generally a ton of realtors in this area, so while we knew what we wanted and what to look for it was still a daunting task. Our top priorities were responsiveness, knowledge of the area, and orientation as to how to buy in NoVA since we were first-time buyers. After interviewing a couple of agents, we chose FASS based on their outstanding reviews and our interview with Katie.We were looking for either a townhouse or single family in either Reston, Oakton, Vienna, or Fairfax with either... well, the list goes on. One of the great things was that Katie talked us through the pros and cons of all of it and gave unbiased perspective about what she was hearing. She made a point to make us make the decisions, but when we wanted advice she gave it. This strategy gave us confidence and a knowledge base without feeling pressured or led down any particular avenue. She took us to plenty of places and kept tuning her advice to what we'd said in the past so that we could be more efficient in the places we were targeting.While we definitely did our homework and made a point to be informed, Katie was always available and prompt with answering questions and endowing us with knowledge we didn't know we needed. Because of the timing (during a pandemic) things got a little weird in the market, but Katie adapted wonderfully and kept our eyes on the prize. When we wanted to see a place, she got us in; when we wanted to make an offer, she put it together with lightning speed; when we needed an expert opinion on something she got on the phone with her network and got us answers within a day. Every day of the week (including holidays!) she made a point to get. it. done.Once we found our now home, Katie helped us understand the ins and outs of working with that particular type of seller (relocation company), helped us submit an offer that got attention, and ultimately negotiated for a price that worked for us. Relocation companies are notoriously slow and difficult, and her attentiveness to making sure to follow up and get answers was key. When our offer was accepted, she connected us with her network of inspectors, lenders, specialists, etc. with no pressure to use any particular one. We chose them for some things and chose outside her list for others.FASS also has a team that works on bank communications, title company coordination, appointment setting, and etc. who were always quick to respond with answers and help. Because of the pandemic, our lender and settlement company took things right to the wire, but the FASS team made sure we got to the settlement table at the scheduled time to close on our home.Honestly, after working with FASS we are so glad that we didn't choose some of the other realtors we were considering.
