Choosing the right Realtor is one of the most important decisions a seller can make. You need someone you trust, someone who knows the market, and someone who knows how to do the job right.

One recent transaction that will always stay with me involved helping a client sell her father’s home after he had moved into a nursing home. This was not just a house to her. It was her dad’s home, filled with memories, emotions, and a lifetime of belongings. She was overwhelmed and heartbroken, and she had been led to believe that an auction was probably her best option. The more we talked, the more upset she became about that idea. Rightfully so. An auction can feel cold, rushed, and impersonal, especially in a situation like this. On top of that, she was facing the very real possibility of spending a significant amount of money just to have the home cleaned out, the personal property sorted through, and the auctioneer paid, only to potentially walk away with far less than she should get. It was adding stress to an already emotional situation. I took the time to walk her through the pros and cons and help her understand that she did have another option. Most of the time, auctions are not the best option and can actually hurt instead of help. Instead of pushing her into a process that felt harsh and overwhelming, I listed the home traditionally. Almost immediately, we had it under contract, and even better, the buyer agreed to purchase the property as-is, including the remaining belongings inside. What she thought was going to be a painful, exhausting, and expensive ordeal turned into a smooth and stress-free sale. She did not have to go through the emotional burden of clearing everything out piece by piece, and she did not have to feel like her father’s home was just being picked apart and liquidated for pennies. She was beyond relieved and truly ecstatic with the outcome. That transaction meant a lot to me because it was a reminder that real estate is not just about selling property. It is about helping people through some of the hardest and most emotional seasons of their lives with honesty, compassion, and guidance they can trust.

Over the years, I have completed extensive continuing education, specialized training, and the coursework for Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), e-PRO® Digital Marketing Certification, Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), and Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), along with many other classes and designation programs. While some designations require ongoing dues to keep the letters active, the education and knowledge I gained from completing those programs continue to benefit my clients every day. I have even completed all of the required appraisal classes simply for the added knowledge and insight they provide. I continue to take classes every opportunity I get because real estate is constantly changing, and my clients deserve a Realtor who stays informed, educated, and prepared to guide them through every step of the process. Knowledge is power, and that knowledge directly benefits the people I represent.
