I then reached out to Hal and from the moment we spoke, I knew he was the realtor for us. We would come down to Roanoke for a weekend at a time and Hal would line up as many houses as we could see; sometimes, we didnt finish up until after 8:00 pm. Hal was super honest, helpful and tenacious. We ended up selling the house we bought in Roanoke to relocate to Georgia. There was no other realtor we would have considered listing our house with. Kris and Hal were fantastic throughout the often-stressful process. You wont find a more honest and professional realty group out there. They truly go the extra mile.

We researched several realtors to assist us with our long distance home search, and decided on Cone Realty Group after watching several of their videos on YouTube to become better educated on the area. Hal and Kris went above and beyond for us during the entire 2+ month process. They did virtual tours of several homes for us, accommodated my schedule when I came to look at homes in person, and looked out for our best interests when it came to inspections and repairs. They did all of this with a positive attitude, kindness and integrity every step of the way. The Cone's YouTube channel was instrumental in introducing us to the Roanoke Valley area and after a vacation in the city, we decided we wanted to move here permanently. We contacted Cone Realty Group and purchased a home within several weeks! Their team was super responsive, fast in visiting open houses and submitting video so that we could see the properties we were interested in from our home in Texas, and went above and beyond for us. They supplied a listing of all the local utility companies as well as local contractors, movers, etc. who had received positive reviews from their clients so that we could get well situated prior to our arrival. Hal Cone even responded to a water leak situation we had at our Roanoke home after we closed, but prior to our move-in from Texas. He was at the property within just a few hours of contact to meet the Water Authority on our behalf. ZillowVERIFIED Have dubbed the Kones the "Do Nothing Team". They did virtually NOTHING in 6 months of being my buyer agents. Zero proactive searching on my behalf, almost no proactive communications and a grand total of 2 phone conversations. I did all the searching myself. They didn't bring a single listing to me in all that time despite my having spent hours helping them understand what I was looking for. I don't want to list all the ways they failed as my realtors since it would just sound like complaining. Do yourself a favor and find a different agent. No amount of smiling and cheery videos can replace an agent who actually does the work they say they're going to do for you and the work that's needed to find you a house, especially in this market.

When we met Hal and Kris in our home the first time, we immediately loved their approach. First, they took interest in US, not just the sale of our home: they inquired about our family, our home, the neighborhood, the memories we would be leaving behind and helped us feel completely at ease with moving on. Then, they went to work. Hal & Kris brought in professional home stagers who gave us suggestions for presenting our home for maximum value. While we fixed, replaced, repaired and decluttered, they employed, writers, photographers, and back-office support -- basically a no-nonsense professional team that helped us get our home ready for sale. After the initial interview, Hal won, hands down! Because of the innovative, well rounded, plan he presented. To be honest, this required a lot of work on my part and a financial outlay that I was not thrilled about! However, the house was on the market two different times in the past 10 years without results and I was ready for a different approach.
