We ultimately had to decide what these last repairs were worth to us and deciding to walk away or believe that the home is more important to us. ZillowVERIFIED We're not giving Chrissie 5 stars because she was referred by a close family friend (coincidentally also a ReMax realtor) and we're not giving her 5 stars to be kind. Chrissie flat out EARNED her 5 star rating. My husband's mother passed away unexpectedly and the emotional task of selling her home became ours. Having no idea how to navigate such an undertaking we went to Google for the top rated agents in the Boise area, as well as reaching out to a family realtor friend who did some research for us. We both independently found the Sheila Smith agency, whom we ended up going with. We were then connected with Chrissie through our realtor friend. Going forward our main concerns were: a) we live out of state in Southern California b) we've never sold a home before and c) we wanted to sell immediately - the end of February if possible. We made our first contact with Chrissie on 1/4/2020 and she assured us the digital documentation signing process would be easy to navigate and it was. She told us that based on the current market in Boise we should have no problem selling immediately. We did not. After 3-4 weeks of Chrissie cleaning and upgrading the condo, we were ready to list on February 12, 2020, we sold on February 27, 2020 and we closed on March 31, 2020. 3 months total start to finish. WOW. And to be clear she made all this happen during the winter months and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We could not have asked more from an agent. Did issues arise during this process? Sure. A few. They were, always, however, addressed immediately and always with our best interests in mind. Texts, emails and phone calls were always responded to the same day or within 24 hours. We never met Chrissie in a physical capacity but she worked for us and with us as if we had. Professional, friendly, personable, approachable, genuine and a hard worker. I got on Zillow, read some reviews, and decided Chrissie and the team she works with worked well for me because I was interested in everything from move in ready to extensive remodels. After using a close family friend who is very talented as a realtor back home, I didn't think I would find someone who would work as hard for me as both a buyer and seller as she had. After my first conversation with Chrissie at her office I knew that I had gotten lucky and found a realtor who wasn't a sales person in the sense she wanted to sell me on each home cause it's what she thought I would buy. She simply wrote down my checklist of things I did or did not want in a house and started sending me houses to look at. When we walked through houses she surprised me with her wealth of knowledge and answered all my questions. She pointed out plus and negatives in each neighborhood so I knew what I was getting into in each house. Chrissie really showed how talented she is once I decided to put an offer in on a house. The house had 5 offers total in the first 24 hours on the market, some of which were cash. Chrissie let me decide on an offer that was in my comfort zone, then added a ton of incentives to the seller without costing me more than the price I had given her. You'll have to go through the process with her to see her secrets first hand, but the fact is they accepted my offer instead going with cash buyers in the same price range because of the way Chrissie structured the offer. After we were in a contract she kept me updated every step of the way, and always worked on my behalf to get the best deal possible. The fact is the Boise market is a tough one for anyone to get into right now. I was fortunate enough to find someone who knows the pulse of the market and knows how to make offers stand out. I've already recommended her to family and friends, and will use her with every property I deal with from here on out in the Idaho Market.
