When it came time to this reflection, I cannot help but admit that I have a LONG overdue review for one of the people that contributed so much of his time and care into being the best relator and friend throughout the first-time home buying experience. This person is Alex Phan. As a disabled veteran, I first had hesitation towards using the VA loan, and thus, this kept a long-standing rental bill each month throughout the years. On top of the VA loan hesitation, I hesitated towards realtors in general, from a couple of previous negative experiences I have had. That being said, I first requested a meeting with Alex based upon the recommendation of my husband. (Alex and Shaun went to high school together, so the years of friendship continued on through past their 20th high school reunion!) It was such a pleasure and delight working with such a fine individual being our realtor, and oh how lucky we were that the friendship strengthened. I couldnt recommend Alex any less. Through making house viewings priority and aiding in the aEURoetribal knowledgeaEUR? throughout the whole process really made the experience a pleasant one, considering how stressful it already is buying a house, let alone for the first time. He is well-connected, has his finger on the market pulse, and knows how to hustle for his clients. When we bought five years ago, Alex provided excellent advice on a house we did not buy. And in this recent hot market, Alex kept us emotionally calm to make good financial decisions again - and we found the perfect house below our max budget. He was successful in not only getting an offer accepted, but did so while I was using an FHA loan, and all while I was virtual in Chicago. Steven was able to take great videos with commentary of properties to make it feel like I was there and then send follow-up texts/emails with additional info, upside considerations, etc. Steven also set up calls with Alex Phan who is also a part of Diverse Realty Group to help provide options and explain implications of certain scenarios throughout various offers and after offer acceptance. For example, the sellers of the home I purchased did not do the repairs exactly as requested and that they agreed to. I planned on letting it go. A few days later, Alex called and said he got a roofer out to the property to give an estimate on what we wanted done. He then negotiated with the sellers agent and I got a credit off of my closing costs for the repairs. There was also a problem with a curtain rod at the house and Alex grabbed some tools from his car and fixed it right then and there! He also has a large network of professionals and contractors that can help with whatever you need. A realtor makes all the difference for making your selling or buying experience great or absolutely horrible. I know from my own experiences.
