I was just starting out, knocking on doors and cold calling FSBOs. It was on my birthday. I came across a FSBO whose last name was “Zamir” - I called him and said “this is your lucky day, I have the same name and I am going to sell your house for you.” I practically begged him for an opportunity, and used the fact that we had the same name as my foot in the door. I talked him into it and won the listing, cold calling on my birthday.

In the beginning it was necessity - I had three young kids, no job, no experience, just dreams. I needed to make it work. I am also very competitive and don’t like to lose so for a long time it was about doing something I wasn’t sure I could. Now it has changed. It certainly isn’t about money. Client satisfaction pushes me, nothing feels better than a referral and the trust of someone who has had their dreams made true.
