I was born and raised in Sonoma County, and I've spent my whole working life in property here. I started out in commercial then building houses, got my license in 2004, and I've been selling ever since - to buyers, sellers and investors, in the towns I grew up in.

Early on I spent months studying the economic indicators that actually move Sonoma County, until I had a system for reading where the trend was heading. In 2006 that system told me to get out. I sold everything I owned - multiple development projects and my own home - moved into a rental, and watched the market pull down hard. In 2008 the same signals told me to start buying again, and I did, at the bottom. Both calls were early and both were unpopular. That is the discipline I bring to a client's file.

Nobody needs another salesman. People need an advisor who can tell them the trends they don't see and what the market analysis actually means for their house. One thing I've learned in my career - better-informed clients make better decisions and sleep better throughout this process. Our clients have come through every phase of this market, not only the easy ones, and a majority of them have built real wealth doing it.

Coming up in construction means we can walk a 1960s ranch in Rincon Valley, or a Sebastopol estate on well and septic and tell you what the roof, the foundation or the old electrical panel is going to cost - early, while it is still a disclosure and a price, rather than a repair request in the middle of escrow. It also means twenty years of developing the best vendor team that will show up when needed.

The construction and vendor team is also why a good share of our work also comes through attorneys, CPAs and professional fiduciaries - estates, trust sales and multi-property portfolios, often with an executor out of state who has never stood in the house. Cleanout, repairs, inspections, repairs: we run the vendors ourselves, which keeps the process efficient and seamless whether you are across town or across the country.
