I lived in my house on the pond for 27 years and thought I would spend the rest of my life there but as an empty nester, I was finding it difficult to maintain such a large property on my own and was thinking about downsizing. I dated a lot but nothing totally clicked until I met Jerry. We courted, he moved out of state for work and then proposed marriage! That's when I knew it was time to sell. I first met Janice at my neighbor's open house and was impressed with her bubbly, forward thinking and very professional demeanor. I found that she was delightful to talk to and we ended up chatting for over an hour. I loved that she knew so much about Long Pond, our town, our neighborhood and that she was deeply connected to our community. I took her card and when it came time for me to list my house, I invited her to give me a market analysis along with several other realtors. We clicked and I chose her because she was very pleasant to deal with, had a quick response time and seemed extraordinarily smart with the ability to communicate at a very high level about many topics, not to mention a long list of great recommendations. I liked that we batted around ideas and worked together to create a marketing strategy, tweaking it as we went along. I always felt like I was part of the process and never felt like I didn't know what was going on.... she kept me informed and updated. My choice was without a doubt, one of the best decisions I could have made. My waterfront property had extra factors that involved the DEP, state regulations, the board of health, an engineer, a new septic and consequently a new well. I was out of state the whole year that all of this work needed to be done and Janice recommended every team member, including a great closing attorney. She made it easy for us by sending us documents that could be signed electronically and showing up at the house to meet contractors and inspectors, so that I didn't have to drive 10 hours to be there. She was supportive in every way imaginable and there were times when I thought that she would've done well as a psychologist because she just knew what to say and how to handle every difficult situation that came up. She was always encouraging and I loved that she stayed positive and upbeat when things went wrong unexpectedly. I've come to know Janice over the course of a very difficult year and both Jerry and I are very grateful for all of her hard work, her genuine love for people and her dedication to her profession.
