We tried buying 2 different homes with Kelsey as our buyer agent. The first one we bid $25K more than the asking price yet, we lost it and didnt even get to a negotiation stage. Fair enough, we did have a financing contingency, appraisal contingency, and inspection contingency. Maybe someone else came in and paid cash, no contingencies? We never found out. For the second home, we had a signed contract to purchase, with negotiated & agreed-upon repairs the seller would make prior to closing (based on the home inspection). We were within 4 days of closing when Kelsey let us know that she hadnt adequately tracked the required repairs, the seller hadn?t made the repairs (even though required by contract) and, as a result, the mortgage lender was postponing closing. Our boxes were packed, moving company deposits paid, etc.!!!! Closing was postponed, then the seller delayed some MORE and the seller ultimately broke the contract, apparently with NO consequences in spite of our financial losses due to inspection fees, radon tests, appraisal fees, etc., etc., etc. Kelsey apologized but -- ? Why wasnt she protecting our interests and our investment of time, money? We were brought to the brink of a move and are now living out of boxes while we look for another home. This time, using a more seasoned real estate professional.
