We had an excellent experience working with Alex and Josh on the sale of two properties, and we would highly recommend them. What impressed us most was how much they were willing to do beyond the normal responsibilities of real estate agents. Because we were away from the Portland area, Alex and Josh took care of both properties for us and gave us tremendous peace of mind throughout the entire process. In particular, our rental house was 118 years old and needed substantial repairs before it could be sold. Alex and Josh voluntarily took on the difficult job of coordinating and managing the entire pre-sale repair project. They worked very hard to get the necessary work completed while staying within our limited budget, and their help made a complicated situation much easier for us. Throughout both sales, they were always friendly, responsive, practical, and easy to work with. Their commission was also very competitive, especially considering the amount of additional work and personal attention they provided. I live out of state, which added an entirely different level of complexity to serving as the personal representative of Cathy's estate. I needed more than real estate agents who could list a house and negotiate an offer. I needed people on the ground in Portland whom I could trust to look after the property, solve problems as they arose, coordinate the many moving pieces, and always keep the best interests of Cathy's estate at the center of their decisions. Before Caring Transitions came in to handle Cathy's personal property, Alex and Josh personally put in a tremendous amount of effort preparing the home for photography. They identified furnishings and pieces that would help showcase the home, moved other belongings out of the camera's view, and essentially staged the house using what was already there. It was a lot of hands-on work that went far beyond what I would normally expect from a Realtor. The result was a home that presented beautifully. From there, their effort never let up. Their guidance on preparation, pricing, presentation, offers and ultimately getting the transaction to closing was consistently based on what they believed was in their client's best interestaEUR"not their own. That distinction matters to me. Being an out-of-state personal representative also meant that seemingly small problems could have become significant delays.
