Long and Foster Real Estate was founded in 1968 by West Foster and Herbert Long. Wes Foster later bought out Mr. Long and went on to grow what started as a one-office company in Arlington, VA to the largest independent real estate firm in the USA with offices from New Jersey to South Carolina and from Deleware to West Virginia. In recent years West Foster sold the firm to the Berkshire Hathaway section of the Warren Buffet empire and the company retains it's ability to operate independently and with much success as it continues to expand it's footprint. It remains the largest real estate broker in the Washington DC metro area, and Boomer Foster, Wes Foster's nephew remains in Senior Management with the company.

He kept me well-informed and explained what was required clearly at each point. As I was selling from abroad, he was very helpful in arranging access for repairs etc before sale.
