I hired Ginger Baxter to help buy my first home, and while the transaction closed without any major disasters, I'm left with mixed feelings. She was responsive from the start, knew the local market well, and handled the paperwork and negotiations efficiently enough that we got into a decent house in a reasonable timeframe. However, several things made me uncomfortable along the way. Ginger was extremely quick to build a aEURoewere friendsaEUR? vibe asking lots of personal questions about my income stability, family plans, and how far I could realistically stretch financially. Whenever I found a solid property within my pre-approval range, shed gently talk me out of it with lines like aEURoeThis one will tie you down you deserve room to growaEUR? or aEURoeBetween us, there are some issues here that arent obvious.aEUR? She repeatedly guided me toward more expensive listings, a few of which had connections to her own brokerage or seemed to move faster than others on the market. Questions about her commission structure, whether any properties involved dual agency, or why she was steering me away from certain homes were met with polished, evasive answers and that trademark warm smile. She also discouraged a full home inspection on one option (aEURoeIts basically new save the moneyaEUR?) and pushed to get an offer in quickly before I could dig deeper into the disclosures. After closing, the follow-up was mostly about referring friends and family so she could aEURoedo the same great job for them.aEUR? Ginger clearly knows how to close deals and get results, but the whole experience left me wondering whether I was truly her priority or just another client being funneled toward the highest-commission outcome for her and her network. She delivered the basics well enough, but Id advise anyone considering her to stay vigilant, do your own research, and keep your budget and boundaries firm.
