When beginning our house-hunting, my wife and I started as that couple checking realtor.com and zillow on a nightly basis. After a few months of scoping out the scene, we began to visit open-houses each weekend. This is how we met Jim Syros and his team. After meeting Jim at an open-house, we had him to our condo for an interview, and he blew us away with his knowledge of the market. We were apprehensive about selling our condo due to the current market in our town. We were expecting to have at least a month or two on the market before making a deal. However, Jim gave us several tips to make the condo more attractive to buyers. We completed almost all of his suggestions, and found ourselves receiving multiple offers within one week on the market.Jim was a huge asset on house-hunting as well. His ability to see potential in homes helped us to look beyond the state of a house to see the home it could become. He offers suggestions for minor cosmetic changes to wide-ranging renovation ideas (depending on if you are open to that).Jim has surrounded himself with a team that made the process easier as well. Chad Gonzalez took us to what must have been over 50 homes and was flexible to our schedule. He always made sure to determine what we liked most and disliked most about the homes we saw to better guide us in our search. Lissette worked with us on all the contract paperwork, and she knows the process very well. We were never out of the loop in terms of where we were in the process or what we needed to give them.Lastly, Jim and his team handle themselves with a tremendous amount of professionalism. When we were looking for a realtor to sell our home, we interviewed three top-rated, local realtors. While each realtor offered excellent service and were knowledgable about Montclair, Lina stood out because she came highly recommended by close friends of ours who used her to sell their Montclair home. They were especially impressed by her marketing expertise. Well, we made an excellent choice! Lina walked through our house before we listed it and made several suggestions on what we should do. She also connected us to her team and with companies, such as window washers and painters, to assist us. We followed her suggestions and if we had questions, it was Team Lina and Jodi to the rescue! When the house was ready, Lina used her marketing skills by not only recommending an asking price, but she was able to arrange house stagers and photographers (the exterior twilight photos were a WOW!). After the realtors' open house on a Thursday, we had two open houses that weekend, and by the following Tuesday, we had six offers well above our listing price! Lina continued to work closely with us as we negotiated the contract and helped us keep our sanity through the couple of hiccups that always seem to pop up before the closing.
