I consider Matt a friend before I think realtor becuase of our expierence. He dealt with an anxious me giving him a soup sandwich just moving to VA with no knowledge but the desire to buy a house and move in 33 days after I met him. I didn't find him online or through another realtor, I found him the best way one can : Word of Mouth. A buddy of mine had just put an offer on their house before I arrived in the area and they could not stop RAVING about how great their realtor was. Guess how they found him? WORD OF MOUTH! And so on so forth. Matt and his wife are a killer team that found me properties all over Hampton Roads that fit my specific needs. Not only that Matt was willing to make continuous 45+ minute drives out to work anywhere with me. Be it Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, or a delicious Mexican place in Ocean View Matt and his wife made it work. If you are looking for a top notch realtor who can treat you like a person and not a paycheck, someone with outstanding knowledge of Hampton Roads plus some, a Realtor who can walk you through the entire process to make sure you don't get lost and understand everything, a realtor who "knows a guy" for just about any issue you have, and most importantly a possible friend who will make you feel welcomed to Virginia and your new home. Matt Spencer is your guy.Moving is hard but I can honestly say he personally made the expierence a million times better.

My husband and I worked with Matt to not only buy a new home but also to sell the home we were living in. He is knowledgeable about the market and the area. We wanted to sell our house to someone who was interested in flipping it since it was older and needed some updating. He supported or decision and connected us (he has a lot of connections also) with some individuals who buy houses for this purpose. At the same time he informed us that our house had more to offer than what we were giving it credit for (as he knew what was out there for sale) and suggested that we put it on the market but we didn't want the hassle. Long story short, we were going to have to pay a good amount of money just to let it go to a flipper so we put it on the market (with no hassle as Matt takes care of pretty much everything) and sold it for an amount above what we asked! He is patient and doesn't push you to buy or sell, he provides all of the information you need to decide and patiently waits. Would I recommend him to my friends and family? I already have! He worked hard as our advocate not letting a lot of the stress and work that comes with buying and selling a house at the same time to reach us!

Buying a home can be a stressful process even to seasoned home owners/buyers. The whole process can even seem harrowing in this competitive market. By the time we viewed the first 2-3 homes on our target list, I felt Mathew really understood us and had developed a very good understanding of our style and preferences. We are just about 14 days into the daunting task of looking for our third place to call home. We met Matthew by chance when we called to see a home he listed. We found Matt to be personable, very attentive yet not overly aggressive. Thus far he has been prompt with responding to our questions (via text, email, and phone) and is on top of scheduling house viewings as soon as possible all-the-while accommodating our hectic schedule. We have kept him out late at night and on the weekends too. His being accessible and flexible has been greatly appreciated.Another awesome quality about Matthew is that he is relentless in getting information. He will call whoever he needs to get information if he does not know the answer to a question. He is very resourceful and seems to have a large network of professionals to call upon. As we view more homes and become more acquainted with each other Matthew learns more about our specific tastes and needs. He comfortably point out things that may have escaped our attention or important facts about the home we are visiting that we may have failed to consider. Matthew is always honest and frank in his opinions (both pro and con) about the homes we see and we never feel as though he is pressuring us to put an offer on a home we were not sure about. Your search for a realtor is over ! You have discovered the best. Not convinced? OK, let me tell you how I know.You may be wondering... How is this possible? That nearly every review is Perfect?? There is a simple answer... it is DESERVED ! Although I can't speak for others, reading their glowing reviews, I could see Matt's expert handiwork reflected in all of them. In a nutshell: Matt is the best realtor I have EVER known. And I have dealt with many ! Matt is not only knowledgeable but ethical, patient, and I doubt you will find better ANYWHERE.- I am a VERY picky buyer and needed to see many homes before focusing on this home I am happily writing this review from, in Holland, VA purchased in the late fall of 2021.Matt was patient, made himself available to see and carefully comment about both the good (AND the bad, even if it cost the sale) of the different homes visited. I have seen a LOT of homes and Matt typically would see and mention important information that directly impacted the decision whether to purchase or not. He understood what was important to me, and drew on his many years of experience to critique and analyze the condition and risks of each home. Matt also has high EQ and is a people person, so his negotiating skills are exceptional! Matt was able to negotiate an additional $10K discount on a house that had very recently been discounted. This review, and my successful purchase of this fine home are a direct consequence of Matt's hard work, extensive knowledge, and dedication to excellence. WoW!! what a professional. Matthew Spencer is the man. My wife and i first meet with Matt through a family reference. Since they had such pleasent things to say about him, we desided to sit down with him and see for ourselves. Could there be such a realitor. By the time we put our first bid in i swore i would hang a picture of him in our family room. We were unable to settle on that home, and boy the house hunting really seemed to be looking like there was no end. Matt lead us though he helped us keep our sanity. After two years of searching(dont get me wrong seems long but if you have the time dont jump right into the deep end) we found our dream home. Matt was there every step of the way. Not only will i be asking Matt to help me sell my home one day, his clients will feel welcomed as they see Matthew Spencers picture in our family room. A+
