Michelle Patterson is amazing! When we first started talking to her, we were still in another state, so she set up a site with listings that fit our criteria and went out to look at houses that we were interested in, measured bedrooms when I had questions so that we could dial in what was worth seeing when we made the trip there, guided us through a lot of the purchasing process and gave helpful advice based on the area, and is driving out to a utility company to submit all the paperwork to get the utilities transferred to us. She has really gone above and beyond. We highly, highly recommend her. She really made the process so easy - even when we had to do so much remotely due to lack of ability to travel. The past month could have been so overwhelming and she took a lot off our plate.

Michelle was a great help and more than willing to explain things in detail. She did everything she said she would and made great suggestions. We looked at so many houses in so many areas. I did start out by giving her my specifics. We are not getting any younger and wanted this to be our "retirement home." Once we found this home I knew this was the one. I have bought houses before but this was the least stressful. The majority of our paperwork was online. When we all sat down in the office to sign the final papers it was quick and easy. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Michelle made this the best and smoothest process from day 1.

BEWARE of this person. Although she was supposed to be MY agent, she worked a deal that was more beneficial to the buyer and the buyer's agent. First of all, she advised me to sell my home for 10k less than I wanted to sell it for. I insisted on MY price. Eight days after listing the property Jo brings me an offer. Prior to, she explained that I'd likely have to pay some closing costs. I was willing to pay between 5 and 6k, but I ended up paying 11k, and Jo wasn't transparent about what that entailed. When I questioned Jo about why I was paying so much in closing costs, she kept saying, "they(prospective buyers) didn't have any money." Now, in addition, Jo was getting a 3% commission, but here's where the issue is, Jo then says I need to give the buying agent a commission. I have the text messages about this. So she's suggesting I give the buying agent 2% or 2.5% commission to the buying agent. If she was representing me well, why wouldn't she have told the buying agent HER client needed to pay her commission? See, THIS is where Jo did not represent ME well. Now about the customer service. The day Jo arrived to put the lock box on the front door, I was out of town. She put the lock box on, but didn't make sure the door was closed completely. I received notification through a security app around 3am that the front door was open. I sent a relative to check on the place. He arrived to find the front door ajar 6 inches. I informed Jo of this and her response was, "I don't know how that happened." Well, I know, I reviewed the security footage and it showed what happened. She put the lockbox on, but didn't check to make sure the door was actually closed completely. Later that night a storm came through the area with strong winds and blew the door open. She seemed to be annoyed that I was implying she did something wrong. Well she did! She didn't check to make sure the door was closed completely. I informed Jo that I would be gone for a month and I needed her to check on the property while I was gone. She told me how it wouldn't be a problem...that was her job. Yet she didn't go check on the property one single time. She acknowledged that she didn't when I returned a month later and attempted to gaslight me and pretend to be apologetic about it. While I was gone the home inspector came. Jo couldn't be bothered to be there for the inspection, but there was an issue. The inspector informed her that he wouldn't be able to do the inspection because he couldn't gain entrance to the attic because my car was in the way. Jo informed me that I'd have to pay for him to come back to do the inspection. I told her there were keys to my vehicle there. She said, "I'm all the way in Pass Christian." I was out of state. She was clearly annoyed at having to go to my house to move my car so the inspector could gain entrance to the attic. I was under the impression that was her job. After the home inspector left...again...she couldn't be bothered to go to the property to make sure everything was locked up properly so I had a relative go check 2 days later, only to find out the inspector left all the lights on in the house. At closing, Jo would later lie and tell me she went to check on the house the very next day. Apparently she forgot that I had security cameras both inside and outside the home. She did NOT, in fact go check on the property the next day. As the closing approached there was no communication from Jo so I reached out to her to make sure it was still going forward. She informed me the closing agent should have reached out to me by now which was ridiculous in my opinion. I don't care if the closing agent DID reach out to me, as my agent Jo should have provided any info I needed. Fast forward to closing. Jo realizes I'm not in the greatest mood when I walk in. She insists on approaching me. I tell her my issues with her representation and once again she's attempting to gaslight me saying she thought she did a good job for me, she's glad I told her so she won't make the same mistakes going forward etc. We go into the conference room and Jo seems to be panicking about the itemized deductions page. After seeing the itemizations, which I had not seen prior to the closing, I realize I was paying for things like buyer's home owner's insurance for the next yr as well as their property taxes for the next yr. As well as a $2850.75 "origination fee" to Mortgage Research Center, who provides "leads". Jolan padded the fees in my transaction. Jolan also lacked professionalism. She was passive aggressive, sarcastic and condescending at times. Since I didn't receive a survey from Jolan I provided this one to her former employer and she was let go. Find a realtor who is going to represent YOUR best interest....whether she likes you personally or not.

Michelle knew her area and field. Answering all my questions quickly. Never hid anything also informed me on stuff about houses that I even missed. I have used plenty of realtors and she made me and spouse feel like people not just a paycheck. She has set my expectations for a realtor high. Michelle is probably the best realtor in the nation right now and I know a lot of them.
