The man and his partner cheated me. I'm a vulnerable adult. The proceeds from my home was 13k n some change short. Andrew personally took advantage of me.

I rarely take the time to write negative reviews, but my experience with Andrew Atwood was disappointing enough that I feel obligated to share it to help others make an informed decision. When Andrew was new to the real estate business, he helped us sell our first home and purchase our second home. At that time, we trusted his advice because we were not very knowledgeable about homes and repairs. Looking back, I feel that trust was misplaced. Whenever concerns came up about the condition of the home we were buying, his response was often, "It's an easy fix." Unfortunately, many of those issues turned out to be far more complicated and expensive than we were led to believe. Years later, when it was time to sell that same home, the experience was completely different. Suddenly, many of the things that were supposedly "easy fixes" became major concerns that needed to be repaired before selling. The inconsistency was frustrating and made us question the advice we had received when purchasing the property. As a seller, I did not feel that Andrew was advocating for our best interests. Instead of working to maximize the value of our home, it often felt like the focus was on making a quick sale. He encouraged concessions and price reductions, and I had to push for a higher asking price and better negotiation on my own. Communication was also very poor. After we moved out of state, we received very few updates about showings or activity on the property. I often had to reach out for information myself, and at times I relied on neighbors for updates. Even after repair and improvement work was completed, we never received final photos of the finished house. Another issue was the cost of repairs and improvements. We were told certain work, such as carpeting and painting, would be relatively inexpensive, but the final bill was much higher than expected. Overall, I found the experience unprofessional, with too many personal excuses, poor communication, inconsistent advice, and a lack of advocacy for us as clients. I cannot recommend Andrew Atwood based on our experience as both buyers and sellers. If you are choosing a realtor, I would strongly encourage you to do your research and consider all your options before making a decision.

Andrew helped us find our first home and we couldn't be happier! We were so excited to be moving to Rochester to start residency at the Mayo Clinic but buying a house around the same time felt daunting at first. Andrew proved to be well-organized, knowledgeable, and hardworking throughout the whole process. He went above and beyond to see houses quickly and we never felt pressured to move on a house we were not sure about. I would recommend him to anyone moving to Rochester and especially any incoming residents and fellows to the Mayo Clinic!
