My experience with Frank Slemc was extremely disappointing. When we first looked at homes, he drove me through some of the nicest parts of Shaker Heights before showing me the house I ultimately purchased. The property came with grants and other incentives, and I felt heavily encouraged to move forward with the purchase. Since buying the home, Ive had nothing but regret. The location has caused significant stress and safety concerns. At one point, while working as a police officer, I encountered an individual in the area who pulled a gun on me. That same individual later had an active arrest warrant through my agency and was subsequently arrested. While I understand that no realtor can predict individual criminal acts, I felt I was not given a realistic understanding of the area before making one of the biggest financial decisions of my life. Ive worked incredibly hardaEUR"earning roughly a quarter of a million dollars in a yearaEUR"trying to put myself in a position to sell the house and move, but I still struggled to get out of it. The financial and emotional burden has taken a tremendous toll on my life and my marriage. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend using Frank Slemc as a realtor. I felt like the propertys location and the challenges that came with it were not adequately represented, and I would encourage anyone considering working with him to thoroughly research any neighborhood independently before making such a major investment. Oh another note, he told me to just pay asking costs instead of negotiating. Frank and Shirley were absolutely amazing to work with. They were so patient and supportive through the entire process of buying a home, and they never gave up on us.. even after countless houses. No matter how many times we looked, they stayed positive, encouraging, and determined to help us find the right fit.
