Our home was in a highly desirable area of Santa Barbara, where we'd lived for over 30 years and had deep roots in the community. When we decided to move out of state, I initially planned to sell the house on my own -- I'm a DIY guy, and the home was well maintained. I figured I could save on real estate commissions and just spread the word among friends. Within a week, a neighbor who was renting made me a great offer. Unfortunately, the escrow process dragged on for months, and he ultimately backed out. That's when I decided to bring in a professional -- and I'm so glad I chose Renae. Renae had already shown interest in the property and had brought potential buyers even before I officially listed. She's incredibly well connected and clearly knows the Santa Barbara market. I was also close friends with two other agents, but to avoid personal complications, I decided to go with someone outside that circle. Renae stood out as the right choice. That included a TV that lowered from the ceiling, an elaborate chicken coop, and a custom play fort -- all things I was proud of, but that might not appeal to every buyer. Thanks to her vision and hard work, she transformed our 65-year-old tract house into something out of a magazine. It looked amazing. She quickly found a cash buyer, and the deal closed fast. Even after the renovation costs and commissions, I ended up netting more than I would have on my own. She more than earned her commission. The only part I found hard to swallow was that the buyer's agent received the same fee for what seemed like far less work -- just writing a contract. But Renae wisely advised me to focus on my bottom line, and she was right. Every recommendation she made was spot-on. She's not just a great agent -- she's smart, capable, and trustworthy.
