Charming and full of character, this beautiful stone pioneer home was originally built in 1874 and includes newer additions added in 1987, that seamlessly attach to the original home. The stucco living quarters have 2'' X 6'' construction that is packed with insulation. The original basalt walls are 14'' thick. The home is extremely quiet inside, and it does not need heating or cooling for 4 months of the year. The original stone house served as a Presbyterian church & school for over 44 years. It was later photographed by Ansel Adams & Dorothy Lange for a photo essay on ''3 Mormon Towns'' which appeared in Life Magazine, on September 6, 1954. The house is surrounded by manicured flower gardens and beautiful, mature trees. The gardens are automatically watered by a pressurized irrigation system available three days a week. A large, covered patio is ideal for outdoor living and entertaining. The house was re-shingled with premium asphalt shingles in 2018. A new Lennox heating & central air conditioning system was added in 2021. The entire inside plumbing system was updated in 2025.
