The outdoor lifestyle "“Year round Outdoor activities are pretty much guaranteed with near perfect year round weather conditions. And With Pacific Ocean at Ventura's doorstep it's no surprise that one of the benefits of coastal living is the variety of water sports. Ventura's outdoor activity that it probably most known for is Surfing. With several local surf spots such as Mondos, C st, and the rincon which attracts different skill levels. And On windy days when the waves are getting blown out you will find plenty of Kite Surfing taking advantage of the wind conditions. Of course, Kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, deep sea fishing , and dive boats are a natural fit to Ventura's watersports and marina life. And of course if you don't feel the need to get in the water there is always the option of just hanging out with friends and family on the beach. Ventura is a bicyclers paradise with flat scenic coastal bike trails all the way up to Santa barbara. While the Ojai Valley Trail weaves along the Shady Ventura river to downtown Ojai. Experienced Road riders can enjoy the casitas lake loop that Climbs around the lake and descends down to the ocean back home. The downtown area is one of the local favorite places to go. With it's walkable outdoor Promenade that stretches for several blocks locals and visitors enjoy, dozens of restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, micro breweries, theaters, diverse shops and attractions . The Downtown offers a mix of architectural styles that span centuries of time. From it's Spanish Heritage along with a mix of Art Deco and mid-century buildings. One of the more famous shots of ventura often features City Hall, which was built in 1912 and functioned as The city courthouse before being converted for City Hall use. It's known for its neo-classical columns, terra cotta exterior, and elegant Italian marble foyer that overlooks downtown Ventura. The other local attraction is the Ventura Harbor- it's the place for Marine entertainment, activities, and restaurants. So If you want to check out the world's largest mammals, the blue whales, the summertime is the best time to book a cruise to see them hanging out around Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. Otherwise you can take sailing lessons, rent a paddle boat or kayak, or simply enjoy the harbor beach area.
