There are so many beautiful and wonderful parts of Kingman to explore and enjoy. Our mountain views are spectacular too! We sit higher in elevation compared to the other river cities so it's quite a bit cooler in the summer and we have more vegetation too, which helps. In town, there's basic shopping, medical facilities and plenty of good restaurants. For specialty shopping though you're better off to travel up to Las Vegas or down to Phoenix (I try not to do that very often). I like being outdoors, so I spend a lot of my time around the outskirts of town and the surrounding communities enjoying hiking, off roading and the likes. There are several great communities of more self-sufficient people here that are enjoying the off-grid lifestyle, or at least appreciate the "elbow room" to stretch out and enjoy some peace and quiet. Arizona offers good laws (depending on beliefs, I suppose) that our family also enjoys! I gave a 4 star rating and not 5 because there could be more to do for families (which they are in the process of developing) and I do not have first-hand experience with the school system, I've heard mixed reviews. This is not city or suburban living, at all!!
