I've lived and sold real estate in Cedar Park for years, and it's still where I'd choose to live. Here's what I tell buyers who are new to the area. You won't run out of grocery options. H-E-B, Sprouts, Costco, Target, Walmart, Randalls, Whole Foods, H Mart, and Natural Grocers are all here. Trader Joe's is on the way, which makes ten. The food scene keeps getting better. Stiles Switch, The Peached Tortilla, Dos Salsas, Mighty Fine, Honest Mary's, Summer Moon, Lupe's, and Jack Allen's are just a few favorites. For shopping, 1890 Ranch and The Parke cover most of what you need. The trails are the best-kept secret. Brushy Creek, Champions, and the Lakeline trail system along the south edge of the city give you miles of walking and biking. In Silverado Ranch, you're about a minute from the Brushy Creek trail. Forest Oak has a concrete path right down to it. Where you land matters. New Hope sits on 183A near Firefly Aerospace and the Cedar Park Center, with the new Scheels close by. It's the newest area and feels more retail than neighborhood. Red Oak is an established resale area bordering Lakeline Park, the city's newest park. Ranch at Brushy Creek and Crestline, a newer Toll Brothers community, are both close to the Champions trails. Twin Creeks, Block House, nearby Anderson Mill, and Cypress Creek round out the mix and are worth touring too. Schools are within Leander ISD. Check the assigned campuses for any address you're considering, since attendance zones can change. The cons: Cedar Park is growing fast, so expect construction. If you work downtown Austin, plan on daily traffic. If your job is north of downtown, the drive is pretty normal. Check your toll road options on 183A either way. And ask for the full tax picture on any home you're serious about. If you're relocating, drive your commute at rush hour before you decide. It'll tell you more than any listing. — Cyndi Bell, Realty Texas
