One of the things I really love about Bonita Springs is that even though it's not as big as Cape Coral, Fort Myers, or Naples, it has so much beauty and character. It's located right between Fort Myers and Naples, which is a great location, but what makes Bonita special to me is the lifestyle. Let's start with the beaches! Bonita Beach is actually my favorite local beach for walking. There's just something about getting out there, walking along the Gulf, enjoying the beautiful homes along the shoreline, and taking in the natural beauty. You also have Barefoot Beach Preserve, which is another beautiful area for shelling, walking, and enjoying a little more of that natural Florida environment. One of the things I'm really excited about is what's happening in downtown Bonita Springs. If you haven't been down Old 41 in a while, you might be surprised at how much has changed. The city has been investing in revitalizing downtown, and we're seeing more restaurants, entertainment, live music, and places for people to gather. I really like what they've done with the area around Riverside Park and the Imperial River. You have the historic charm of old Bonita mixed with newer businesses and development. Places like Sugarshack Downtown have brought a whole new energy to the area. And there's more coming! The city is continuing improvements to Riverside Park, adding recreational amenities, and working with private developers on additional residential and commercial projects. I think that's exciting because Bonita has an opportunity to continue growing while hopefully keeping some of the charm that makes it special. Another thing I like is the variety of communities. You have beautiful golf and country club communities like Bonita Bay, Pelican Landing, and Spanish Wells. You have waterfront homes, beachfront condos, gated communities, and established neighborhoods without all the amenities and fees. And if you enjoy being outdoors, there's plenty to do beyond the beaches. Kayaking the Imperial River, exploring the Wonder Gardens, boating, fishing, golfing, and enjoying the parks are all part of the lifestyle here. Now, there are definitely some things I would want buyers to understand before moving here. Bonita Springs isn't necessarily inexpensive, especially if you're looking near the beach or in one of the luxury communities. HOA fees, club memberships, insurance, and flood zones can all make a big difference in your overall cost of ownership. Traffic can also be challenging during our busy winter season, especially along Bonita Beach Road and when heading toward the beaches. And like much of Southwest Florida, we've seen the real estate market change considerably since 2022. Buyers have more choices today, but pricing and market conditions can vary quite a bit between beachfront properties, golf communities, condos, and single-family homes. My biggest advice would be to spend some time exploring the different areas. Downtown Bonita has a completely different feel from the beach, and both are different from the gated communities farther east. I think Bonita Springs offers a really nice balance. You have beautiful beaches, great restaurants, outdoor activities, established communities, and a downtown that's continuing to evolve. It's not the biggest city in Southwest Florida, and personally, I think that's part of what makes it so special.
