Wendy Burgener Wallin

Owner/Broker (26 years experience) I grew up in the real estate business with my parents owning oceanfront vacation rentals. My mom put me to "work" when I was 3 year's old by letting me "manage" the "pre-cleaning" tasks of clearing out dressers, night stands, and closets for any personal items left behind to return to our customers, to donate, or to dispose. When nap time came, and if my mother was still cleaning, painting, or fixing something, I would lay down on my blanket in one of the closets with the fresh ocean air drifting in through an open window and sleep until it was time for us to go. My mom's work ethic became instilled in me along with a passion for the real estate business. My father was consistently a top producing real estate agent who then encouraged me to get into the business. So I did. But first I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in public relations/advertising. The combination of a formal education and professional experience working several years in communications ultimately prepared me for a successful real estate career which I chose to enter in 1993 in California. After creating, co-owning, and brokering my own real estate company, it was sold and my family and I moved to the Coeur d' Alene area in 2004 where I had the ultimate experience of being a stay at home mom while doing a few deals here and there. Now I am back more than full-time and am rapidly growing my business again. If I were to choose one of my strongest "talents" in this business it would that of negotiation. I have had many positive comments on this over the years regarding my skills in this particular arena. Perhaps it comes from my years as a public relations account manager for an international banking and finance software firm where I spoke with the press from all over the world on my client's behalf, or maybe it's the simple fact that not only do I care, but I am driven to always represent my client's best interest and not my own. I've always been the one my family and friends tell their friends and family to go to when they need to talk. I like to listen. When I focus on listening, I hear what the person is actually saying. If it's a problem, or a concern, we can usually work it out. As a real estate professional I am entrusted for life with every single piece of information from every single client I have ever represented. What an honor that is!
