More than five years ago, I began exploring places in Virginia to relocate, and Lake Monticello immediately stood out. Three years ago, I met Vicki Wilson with Monticello Country Realtors. From our very first conversation, Vicki took the time to educate me about the lake, the surrounding areaaEUR"the pros and the consaEUR"and, most importantly, understand exactly what I was looking for in a home. ZillowVERIFIED Attempting to buy a house with Vicki was a disappointing experience. I chose her because of her knowledge of the Lake Monticello area, and because of a myriad of great reviews here. But unfortunately my experience was very different than the glowing reviews suggested. Lake Monticello this year is a super competitive market and good homes disappear from the market within a couple of days. When I engaged with Vicki I told her I live 800+ miles away and I needed someone to be my eyes and ears to quickly react to the what appears on the market. I got nothing of the sort. I had to find the homes myself before she ever told me about them. To make matters worse, when I planned my trip to Lake Monticello I sent her a list of 5 homes that I would like to see when I get there. When I got there she said all but one were already off the market. She showed me that one, plus two of her own listings, still under construction. When I got back home, I found out that at least two others were still on the market and I never got to see them. The listing agents confirmed that they were not off the market during my visit. Mind boggling. While I was there I found one house coming soon and asked to see it. Vicki did arrange for me to see it, I made a full price offer, but I did not get it.

ZillowVERIFIED We have worked with Vicki Wilson on a number of real estate transactions. Most recently she sold our primary home in Lake Monticello, Palmyra, VA 22963. Vicki is extremely professional and knowledgeable. If I could give ten stars I would! Vicki was more than just a real estate agent to us. She met with us early on before we were sure exactly our plans. She helped create a list of action items should we decide to sell specific to improving the home's appearance and marketability. She was always very responsive to any question by email, text or phone call- 7 days a week. Once we were ready to list the home, she really took charge with professional photos, helpful directions and a very quick contract. Just as important in any real estate sale is the support after a home goes under contract. Vicki made sure anything that was needed was taken care of including taking the lead on physical co-ordination and scheduling of services, etc. And, again, she was always proactive with her communication, kept us abreast of any specifics (i.e. appraisals, inspections, 3rd party work, etc.) and was always very fast to get back to us on anything we were needing or asking about. This was very helpful to us since once we decided to sell we moved and were not in the immediate area any longer. If you are looking for someone who is a full time real estate professional with a very good knowledge of real estate in general and fully aware of her local market I would recommend Vicki. I am certain you will feel as positive about your decision as we do. We will be forever grateful for all she did for us.

(Coincidentally, when we first moved to the area about eight years ago, we found a rental through Lake Monticello Country Realtors and had good experiences with them so I thought that it was a positive omen that she was one of the owners.) I chose well. We weren't totally uneducated buyers (we read a lot of stuff ahead of time) but Vicki's depth of experience was working for us from the start and that's exactly what we wanted in an agent. She knows both the area and the business very well.The market was hot when we first started looking. Vicki was super responsive... A "perfect" house came on the market on Friday afternoon, and Vicki sent it to me around the same time my wife and I were checking it out from a Zillow alert (within an hour or two of it being listed). We went to see the house Saturday morning and learned that there were two other offers already, with the sellers waiting until Sunday evening to make a decision. Vicki worked with me to get an offer in by Sunday morning. We were outbid on it... the buyers offered like $25k over asking price. When we found the house we ultimately bought, Vicki was great at answering all my questions throughout the process. I am extremely focused on details and I can probably be a pretty exacting person to work for. She was absolutely great to work with; she didn't make a single mistake on anything, all the paperwork was airtight, and the contract was clear and thorough and gave us ample protection.
