Rather than try to pressure me into signing an agreement right away, she was responsive, cheerfully rearranging her schedule when I had to change mine at the last minute. Instead of steering me toward more expensive properties, she found suitable homes at the bottom end of my budget, that I hadn't even considered. Of course I signed with her when the time came. ZillowVERIFIED Our home buying process was complicated, to put it lightly. When Valerie started with us, we weren't even sure where we wanted to live yet. She patiently walked us through the pros and cons of different neighborhoods and school options. When she helped us make the right decision for us, which was moving to the City of Decatur, we knew we wanted new construction. This process drug on and on, and Valerie handled the whole situation with grace, taking care of every detail. Her knowledge and intelligence made the process seamless for us. Then things got infinitely more complicated when the next home we finally chose had not even been built yet. So we went from almost buying a home to now waiting months as our new home was constructed. The future home we'd picked was on the exact street and neighborhood we wanted, so we were not in the driver's seat during negotiations. Nevertheless, Valerie managed to get us in a good place, ending on a better than fair price for the home. What we didn't know at the time was that we'd sold our soul to the devil, a builder, who although builds high quality homes, was an absolute nightmare in every other aspect. Don't get me wrong, we'd do it all over again because we love our house and neighborhood, but I can't say enough about how great it was to have Valerie on our side during the ghoulish construction process. There simply isn't enough time and space to go into everything we went through working with the devil incarnate that was our builder. Our home was supposed to be done in four months, but it took closer to nine. We knew it would be longer than expected, (as all homes do), but five months delayed was extreme. Those long months were filled with challenges where Valerie stepped up to the plate, being a professional every step of the way. And believe me, it was NOT easy to keep cool while we battled Darth Vadar. She didn't just do a great job for us with the real estate aspects, but she also helped us maneuver through the muck, making sure that we were comped for all the million things the builder did wrong. (And lots goes wrong when the onsite manager doesn't show for months at a time). By the end, Valerie had become much more than an agent to us. We now consider her a friend, and there really aren't enough nice things to say that will do her justice. We live in the home of our dreams that we got for a better than fair price with all of the features we wanted because of her. Valerie is highly knowledgeable and smart, but she's also got a heart of gold and will always make sure she's on your side, even when the going gets tough.

I managed to get into the house I wanted to buy before any body else b/c she lined it up. We put in a bid the same day. Then I prepared to sell the old house. She advised me on everything to store (it was crowded) and got in a terrific photographer. The house sold in two days, for a good bit above the asking price. Valerie was professional and attentive and helpful through the whole experience. She was a good judge of pricing in both neighborhoods, and she kept helping me move up the closing date on the new house. She juggled 3 buyers who wanted the old house so that I would have backups. ZillowVERIFIED I jokingly call Valerie "the world's greatest real estate agent" but that statement is pretty darn true. She was responsible for getting my home sold very quickly for a price that was very close to the asking amount and a record for our little development. She arranged to have a "stager" come in and do a very comprehensive report on what needed to be done to show the house to its best advantage. She then recommended excellent workmen to do the work and policed me to make sure it got done. The photographer that she brought in did an incredible job with the photos that were posted online. During the negotiation process her advice was always right and we got the deal done, despite some hiccups on the buyers end, very quickly. During a time of significant stress for me she was always responsive, always there and always positive and unceasingly helpful. And to top everything off she spent a good part of a weekend helping me to corral my two cats that were so spooked by the movers that they went into hiding in the attic and refused to come out. On a scale of 1 to 10 Valerie gets at least a 12 from me. I really can't recommend her highly enough.
