About Thomas Millar

Thomas Millar, Realtor, Lighthouse Team Lead: Tom and his wife Paula moved to the Northern Virginia area with their four children when he was stationed there in late 1995 with the Air Force. After another 10 years and two back-to-back military assignments, he completed a satisfying career in the United States Air Force retiring with 20 years of service as a Major and Chief Systems Engineer for a large defense communications organization in the area. Choosing Real Estate: Having completed engineering degrees at Arizona State University and Stanford University, Tom was well poised to continue on as a Defense contractor...but there was something missing. He felt God was leading him to something different where he could help people in more tangible ways. Real Estate seemed to be a natural transition, and he began his Real Estate career in early 2004. Now, after 18 years and closing on over 600 buyer, seller, and team transactions, Tom and The Lighthouse Team have the experience base you need to help you with a listing or a purchase in the Northern Virginia area. The Lighthouse Team was recognized in the top 10 team producer in Virginia and top 100 in the country within the Century 21 network in 2021, and they are looking to expand on that in 2022. Area Expertise: Tom is very familiar with the Prince William, Fairfax, and Loudoun county areas, having helped hundreds of buyers and sellers in all three counties. Living in Prince William County and having offices in Prince William and Fairfax counties enhances Tom's exposure to and ability to serve these areas. Specialties and Experience: Through New Millennium's relationship with CARTUS, the largest relocation company in the world, Tom is a certified Relocation Sales and Marketing Specialist giving him the skills, training, and experience to assist departing and arriving relocation employees. Tom and his team have experience in new home sales, single family homes, townhomes, and condo transactions, and they particularly enjoy working with and educating first time buyers. Having moved 13 times in his military career, Tom knows the challenges associated with such a tumultuous time! Family/Community: Tom and his wife have four children and four grandchildren, and they are significantly involved with their local church. They volunteer time leading the children's and youth ministries and serve in other vital areas of the church. Tom is also an active volunteer Mission Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol and assists with the cadet youth program as a Character Development Instructor.

Bill Depugh sold our home in 2 days! Being Military, I was preparing to move to Virginia from San Diego and clicked on a profile for a house in Virginia to request more information. Bill called me within 20 minutes saying that he could help me. Without knowing Bill, I thought this was just another salesman so to speak contacting me. He told me about the Lighthouse Team app which I was skeptical about using at first because I did not know him. I figured I would give it a shot and when I did, I was amazed at how awesome and up to date the information is, and how easy it was to use. With me being in San Diego, it was impossible for me to look at homes. I had to put my trust in someone else to do it for me. The very first house I looked at, Bill was all over it! He went to the house and did a walk around with me on the phone sending my pictures while he talked through it. He gave me an honest assessment and we did not buy that house. The second house he looked at for me was amazing! We immediately jumped on it and Bill could not have made the process any easier. He took time out of his weekend to go to the property and scout it out for me. Bill would call, text or email me Saturday, Sundays, Holidays, nights...it did not matter. If he had updated information then he was going to reach out to me however he could to ensure I received the information. Bills help through the entire buying process was absolutely incredible and extremely professional. I could not ask for more from a realtor. I honestly felt like my best interest was his number one goal regardless of anything else, it was like he worked for me. Bill, being former military understands the ever changing and uncertain environment we deal with and went above and beyond to help me and my family. Out of a scale of 10, I would honestly give him a 12 because he exceeded my expectations by far.
