We are new to the Grand Rapids area and did not know much about home buying when we started our process (first time home buyers). Tammy Jo met with us at the beginning of the pandemic (talk about crazy timing) and she was very clear with us right from the beginning. She explained things very thoroughly and allowed us to ask questions. She was also very upfront about costs, expectations, and wanted to know what we wanted. Tammy Jo's team was amazing to work with. April and Cindy did an excellent job also with showing houses, always being available (even after hours) and being very timely. The market in Grand Rapids has been very hot, and they helped us with tips and tricks on how to navigate and make our offers competitive. Tammy Jo also connected us to Nick V. who helped us on the finance side, so she was very helpful in making that introduction and he was also great to work with. They helped us with recommendations, inspections, and pretty much walked us through all of the process step by step. I'd highly recommend working with her and her team. Their communication was also very timely and clear. They use a group text message to stay in touch and ensure we are informed. If you are looking for a realtor in GR, Tammy Jo and her team are highly recommended!

ZillowVERIFIED My family initially discovered Tammy Jo more than 10 years ago when my parents called on one of her signs while driving around a neighborhood scouting out homes. They had been unimpressed with their interactions with another realtor and were immediately impressed with her straightforward responses, thoroughness and interest in helping them with exactly what they were asking for instead of trying to "sell them something." Fast forward a couple years, my fiance and I had been looking for apartments to move into once we got married and were not having any success. My parents suggested we reach out to Tammy Jo and see what was available on the market to purchase. After talking with us, Tammy Jo put together a list of options and we selected some that we wanted to look at. The last home we looked at was one that actually already had an offer on it that the seller had not yet officially accepted. She said she wanted to still show it to us to get an idea of the differences we would get with a newer built home versus older. We loved the home, but were nervous to dive into buying it, yet knew if there was any shot we had to get an offer in ASAP. We still never felt pressured by Tammy Jo, she went over some paperwork with us, had us sign some things so it would be ready to go, and told us to just take the night and think about it. The next day was a whirlwind. In summary, we ended up deciding we wanted to move forward with an offer, and had just a mere few hours to get one in. Tammy Jo made us feel like we were her only two clients and we had her undivided attention. She pulled everything together for us in a flash, and had every box checked, T crossed, and I dotted into a complete offer in the sellers hands before their deadline. We ended up getting the home and loved it. A couple years after that grad school came into the picture which prompted a move. Similar to our first experience, she was on top of everything, made the process very straightforward and we had a very positive experience both selling our home and buying our next. Fast foward a couple more years and our focus had shifted to buying our forever home with property. After some searching we found one option that was an existing home on property. Through a friend of the family we actually were acquaintances with the sellers and walked through the home without Tammy Jo just on a whim(we know, not following the rules.) Of course this left us with lots of questions in terms of price point, other issues etc that we needed her expertise in. Tammy Jo set up a time with us and we walked through the home with her(at this point we were a good 45mins to an hour away from her home base) and ended up having a long discussion out of which we decided we were not going to find a home we wanted, and to pursue the purchase of land. We found property, but it was a complicated purchase. There had been an initiation of splitting the property into three separate parcels and there was question initially if buying all of it was even an option anymore. At several points along the way we questioned whether or not the purchase was going to move forward. Ultimately we thought the entire deal was going to fall through because of the seller side, but we went for a hail mary. I remember texting Tammy Jo approximately mid-morning asking her what her thoughts were on us putting in a very strong offer last minute(as in, before the end of that same day) in hopes of something materializing from it. She never hesitated. Very much like the purchase of our first home, I felt like she dropped everything to make sure everything was completed appropriately and we submitted an offer that evening. Ultimately our offer was accepted on the entire piece of property. Another major hurdle/issue Tammy Jo caught for us was on the purchase agreement/deed. When my husband and I had been reviewing all the paperwork prior to the closing, we noticed that the description of the property was written out in such a way that it made it sound like the property had been split into three parcels. Additionally the address listed for the property was not correct. We brought these concerns to Tammy Jo and she had actually already noticed that, and had her someone from her company's legal team reviewing the documents. Tammy Jo actually advised to us that we push out our closing date to ensure the property deed was clear and without issue as she did not want there to be any issues for us at the time or in the future. Ultimately everything was corrected and we closed on the property. Without Tammy Jo we would not have our dream property.
