She wanted to sell her house but was having such a hard time navigating the ins and outs with the Building Department in order to legalize code requirements on a house that was over 100 years old. Multiple permits needed to be filed, plumbers, electricians, contractors needed to be hired. I live in another state so there was only so much that I could do to help her. It was one issue after another. My mom is 80 years old and was not only overwhelmed, but also lacked the know-how required to address all of these issues. She was originally working with another real estate agent who took a more hands-off approach. After 6 months on the market with this other agent, no progress was made in addressing the propertys many issues. Once we hired Susan Batterton, it was like a huge weight had been lifted.
